Frank Martin puts the driving gloves on to deliver Valentina, the kidnapped daughter of a Ukranian government official, from Marseilles to Odessa on the Black Sea. “Transporter 3″ Goofs List

  • Crew or equipment visible: During the scene where Malcolm is being taken away in the ambulance, in which Jason Statham runs outside to stop it. The ambulance explodes and Jason is sent careening backwards. When he gets up, he looks to the right and and his earplug is visible.
  • Plot holes: Frank drives an armored and bullet-proof Audi that numerous bullets fail to leave marks upon, yet twice he is able to easily kick out a window with his feet.
  • Revealing mistakes: Near the end of the film, when Leonid Vasilev is close to joining the environmental congress that is going on in Odessa, one of the signs promoting the upcoming lecture is shown, with an obvious spelling mistake. It says: ‘European Union Lecture On Environemental Studies’. This should of course be ‘Environmental’.
  • Factual errors: The scene where Statham and Natalya Rudakova are in the car arguing about the music volume. Statham uses the car menu navigation wheel for adjusting volume, this is not possible in the Audi.
  • Continuity: The scene where Statham and Natalya Rudakova are in the car arguing about the music volume. Statham changes between using the actual volume wheel and the car menu navigation wheel. He does this in several sections.
  • Continuity: You can constantly see that the tail lights from the Audis are sometimes from the older model and some times from the redesigned one.
  • Revealing mistakes: When on the bridge wheel spinning the car to jump in to the lake only the rear wheels are spinning but this is a 4 wheel drive car so it would be impossible to do this.
  • Factual errors: When Jason sits on top of the train with his car and the bad guys disconnect two parts of the train, the train would automatically come to a halt as a pressured breaking line would be severed. This is a security feature added since the days of the steam train.
  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: After taking the car out of the river Frank and Tarconi are fixing the car. Tarconi manages to turn the car on. Frank closes the hood although we see there are some tools on top of the motor. Seconds later we hear the hood closing. However, there is clearly a scene cut, during which time passed that he would have removed the tool box prior to closing the hood.
  • Factual errors: In one scene, Frank tries to save his sinking Audi by inflating body bags with the air from his tires. It is extremely unlikely that a car tire, even an overinflated one, can provide enough air to inflate a body bag so that it would have enough buoyancy to float the whole car.
  • Revealing mistakes: When the Mercedes Benz is launched off the cliff after the offroad chase, the launch rod is visible underneath the car. It is positioned in the middle of the car’s undercarriage.
  • Factual errors: When Frank drives the Audi between the two trucks on its left two wheels at high speed, the other two wheels roll along the side of one of the trucks smoothly: this is impossible to achieve since the difference in speed (in relation to the surface driven on) between the left and right side of the car would be too large for the differential gears to compensate for.
  • Revealing mistakes: Some of the German license plates do not have the correct German license plate font type.
  • Continuity: When Frank’s car is sinking in a lake, he lets the air out of the tires to come back to the surface. Later on, he would be driving the car without previously inflating the tires.
  • Continuity: In the scene when both characters were about to have sex, Jason left his suit, shirt and tie on the ground, but in the next shot these things magically disappear.
  • Continuity: When Frank and Valentina are arguing over the keys by the cliff, just after Frank discovers the phone books, the position of the phone book on the ground changes from close to the car, far from the car and disappearing.
  • Continuity: When Frank is being chased in the woods by the Mercedes he slams on his brakes to disarm the machine gun from the gunman in the rear passenger seat. (about 59min 30sec). When the machine gun hits his rear bumper it breaks the gunners arm but not before it takes off the Audi’s driver’s side mirror. The next clip just a few seconds later has the side mirror back in perfect condition.
  • Continuity: In the scene where Johnson is convincing Frank to drive for him, he turns a gun on Frank after shooting one of his own men with it. In most of the scenes, he is holding what is obviously a 1911-style handgun. In one shot, however, when he is holding it to Frank’s head, he is clearly holding a Beretta M92 in lieu of the 1911.
  • Continuity: After kicking through his driver’s window to retake his car, Frank drives off, but there is insufficient road noise to merit a missing window, Valentina’s hair does not blow, and a car window is visible in the vehicles reflection on the building.
  • Continuity: Just before Frank is waking up after being taken by Johnson’s men, he is shown lying from directly above, and you can see that he has nothing on his right hand/wrist. As soon as he wakes up, and sits up, he scratches his head with right hand, and explosive bracelet is suddenly there.
  • Continuity: At the gas station scene Frank grabs Valentina by the wrist with the bomb on her wrist above his hand, the camera cuts away and when it comes back, we cannot see the bomb, it cuts back again to her wrist and the bomb is again above Frank’s hand.
  • Plot holes: Any contract signed under duress is not legally valid undermining the premise of the movie. The minister would still want to save his daughter but signing or not signing the contract would make no difference in Ecocorp achieving its objectives.
  • Plot holes: Frank’s role in the movie is entirely superfluous – he gets the girl form the bad guys at the beginning, drives through Europe, and then gives the girl back to the same bad guys who were following him through the entire movie. They could simply have put her in their car.
  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Frank gets the second code, the city name “Bucarest” is blinking on his car screen. Whilst the city’s name is spelled “Bucharest” in English, the H is dropped in the French spelling of the city.
  • Plot holes: When Valentina first shows Frank the explosive bracelet, it’s quite obvious that the bracelet is large enough that, with a little soap or other lubricant, she could fairly easily slip it off her wrist and leave it in the car.
  • Factual errors: High velocity rounds such as those fired by the automatic weapons used after Frank drives into the dammed lake would not zip through the water as shown. The massive difference in density between air and water would cause such extreme deceleration that the bullets would disintegrate on impact with the water. Even if the rifles were firing lower velocity ammunition, the water would, within a handful of yards, slow the bullets to the point where they’d just fall under gravity.
  • Continuity: At 1′ 26″ of the film, the nameplate at the conference shows the ministers’ name as M. Leonid Tomilenko, not Leonid Vasilev as the credits show.
  • Revealing mistakes: When Frank and the girl are on the way to Budapest and the GPS says “wrong direction”, they leave a two-lane road, not a six-lane highway, as it is on the GPS’s screen.
  • Errors in geography: On the first shot of Budapest’s streets you can see a tram. No trams like that run in Budapest, actually, the outdoor shots aren’t from Budapest, but from Ukraine as you can see on the plates on the same shot. Later, the public phone rings and Frank answers it. There is no outdoor public phone without box in Budapest.
  • Factual errors: On the top of the train when Frank uses the handbrake, it sounds like a “classic handbrake”, but in this car there is electric handbrake, that can be activated with a button left to the lever.
  • Revealing mistakes: Transporter’s car almost has a crash with a Renault 25. The Renault has a license plate starting with “RO” and the Romanian flag, but the ID number it’s not a Romanian valid car number – it’s actually Hungarian. (In Hungary the car ID is, for example, ABC-123, but in Romania it’s XY 12 ABC, where XY denotes the county).
  • Continuity: Near the beginning of the movie, when the two ship crewman die after being exposed to poisonous chemicals inside the cargo container, their skin is bloodied and appears melted from chemical burns which implies some type of biological poisonous gas deadly to skin contact; however, shipmates investigating the cargo container break-in are wearing gas masks with their face/hand skin exposed.
  • Continuity: When Frank kicks the thug out of the car, the back license plate shows 32 AEJ 13, but after getting rid of the Mercedes, when he stops for a
