“Spy Kids” Goofs List

  • Continuity: Seen from outside the window of the castle, Floop is holding a ball of clay in his right hand. As we cut to a view from inside, the clay is in his left hand.
  • Continuity: While Gregorio and Ingrid are talking with Floop, the spoon Gregorio is holding quickly switches from his left hand to his right.
  • Continuity: When Juni handcuffs his arm to a metal case, the handcuff switches back and forth from his right arm to his left arm.
  • Continuity: the children fly by a billboard advertising Floop’s show for eight o’clock in the morning. Later on, he tells them they can see the mutated agents on the show every morning from 7:30 to 8.
  • Revealing mistakes: Just before the kids meet Machete, the cab drives away, and we hear the sound of it speeding into the distance. But the car is reflected in a nearby window and it can be seen that it just drove ten feet away to get out of the shot.
  • Revealing mistakes: When Gregorio and Ingrid escape and encounter the hallway with the floor of falling puzzle pieces, the pieces fall into a deep hole. But after Gregorio peels his face from the Plexiglas, you can see that the puzzle pieces are on top of the Plexiglas, not underneath it.
  • Boom mic visible: Reflected in car, when the dad drops the children off to school.
  • Crew or equipment visible: Reflected in the mini spy plane beside Carmen is a man holding a white screen.
  • Continuity: Before Floop “edits” Felix, he is holding the clay model of him in his hands with one glove on. When he remodels the clay, his glove disappears.
  • Errors in geography: Across the road from the gadget shop, an old style black and white Irish signpost with Leopardstown and the Gaelic translation written above (a feature of all Irish road signs) above is visible. Leopardstown is a suburb of Dublin.
  • Continuity: Close to the end when Machete jumps through the glass window you can see a big plaster on his left arm. This disappears in the next shot.
  • Continuity: Throughout the movie, Floop’s black glove is shown on his right hand. However, on Juni’s figurine, the glove is on his left hand.
  • Continuity: When Carmen and Juni switch the plane from autopilot to manual control, many of the aircraft movements do not properly correspond with the movements of the control surfaces.
  • Continuity: At the finale of the boat chase, the “Donzi” logo on the side of the boat is reversed.
  • Revealing mistakes: Ms. Gradenko’s bald cap is often disappointingly apparent after she has portions of her hair burned off.
  • Revealing mistakes: There is a visible line where the latex of Minion’s prosthetic hand ends and his real fingers begin.
