    “Showtime” Goofs List

    • Continuity: During the scene with the armored car, the roof panels of Trey’s Corvette disappear and reappear between shots.
    • Continuity: When Trey Sellars does his first audition he, wears a holster which disappears briefly during the scene.
    • Continuity: Chase’s blouse is (un)buttoned between shots when the confessional is introduced.
    • Revealing mistakes: When Trey pulls into the police garage, his stunt driver is clearly white.
    • Crew or equipment visible: When Mitch Preston is chasing Vargas in the cop car, crewmembers are reflected in the window of a building, as are the truck and trailer pulling the cop car along.
    • Revealing mistakes: The timecodes in the camera that Trey uses change inconsistently.
    • Continuity: When Preston and Chase are talking in the restaurant, Preston’s hamburger is repeatedly up/down between shots.
    • Crew or equipment visible: At the end of the armored car heist, when all the cop cars are leaving, there is a crewmember crouching down right in front of the camera wearing a blue vest.
    • Continuity: When Trey goes to visit Mitch at his apartment the receipt on the bag of Chinese take out changes to a menu and back again several times during their conversation at the door.
    • Revealing mistakes: When Preston is trying to kick the windshield out of the police car that is trapped on the garbage truck, you can see a black cable attached to the windshield pulling it away.
    • Crew or equipment visible: As Ceasar Vargas is riding in the elevator in the hotel, on the glass wall behind him, you can see the reflection of a reflecting screen and a crewmember’s hand holding it.
    • Continuity: During the armored car chase, the police car that Mitch is driving has the driver’s side portion of the windshield totally gone in some shots and totally intact in others.
    • Continuity: Near the end when Mitch and Trey are almost pushed out of the hotel window by the pool water, Trey handcuffs himself to Mitch with what are regular handcuffs, but when they are shown to hanging onto a rail the handcuffs have a longer chain connecting the handcuffs together.
    • Revealing mistakes: When Caesar shoots open the hotel room door, he is using a weapon that fires a 12 gauge slug which would have continued past the door with enough energy to easily smash through one of the room’s windows, as demonstrated by the fact that the rounds are able to pierce through the ceiling and then through the bottom of the swimming pool above the room. However, upon entering the room, there is no additional damage apparent.
    • Crew or equipment visible: In the beginning of the movie when Trey is following Preston and thinks he is a bad guy, Trey crouches behind Preston’s car the license plate is dark and suddenly it gets bright as if someone turned on a light.
    • Crew or equipment visible: In various scenes with the garbage truck, the supposedly dead driver can be seen steering and turning the truck.
    • Crew or equipment visible: In the brief low-angle shot of Robert De Niro’s stuntman landing on the hood of the car during the garbage truck chase, a camera crew can be seen filming a different angle on the scene in the lower right of frame (may only be visible in 4:3 version of movie).
