“Scary Movie 2″ Goofs List
- Continuity: In the freezer near the lab, a puddle of blood underneath Buddy keeps appearing and disappearing between shots.
- Continuity: When the caretaker is serving the turkey, the plate has turkey and salad on it. When he sets it down, there is only turkey.
- Continuity: The potatoes on Ray’s cheek at dinner.
- Continuity: We see Alex’s nasty toe nails, yet seconds later, without having the opportunity to put them on, we clearly see her wearing socks.
- Continuity: When the Minister’s mother leaves the bed, the girl is tied to the bed. She screams and she is untied, and then the camera shifts and she is tied once again.
- Revealing mistakes: When Shorty and Cindy are doing left and right punches, some guys walking in the background disappear halfway across the screen.
- Continuity: After Cindy throws the cat off her, she gets off the bed and there are no scratches on her neck. The next time we see her (seconds later) her neck is scratched.
- Continuity: The cut/scar above Buddy’s eye suddenly disappears.
- Continuity: During the skeleton chase, the “KILL HER” sign on Cindy’s back disappears instantly when she runs into Shorty.
- Continuity: The time on the grandfather clock in the foyer changes between shots.
- Continuity: The contents of the shelves in the infrared goggles cabinet constantly change while Dwight is handing out the goggles.
- Continuity: The costumes change during the spoof of the Nike commercial where the characters are in the costumes they are supposed to be in the next day.
- Continuity: Cindy has blood on her clothes that comes from nowhere (the source is revealed in a deleted scene).
- Continuity: When Dwight is falling off the side of the building, the positions of his arms change inconsistently between shots.
- Continuity: When the group enter the lab and Dwight is talking to them, the digital clock on the right reads 2:38. But when Dwight explains the dixie cups, the clock reads 2:17.
- Continuity: When Hanson puts his hand in the pie, we see Shorty Theo and Alex get up form the table and leave. But when the Angle changes two seconds later. Alex is still sitting at the table, then throws her hand cloth and leaves the table.
- Crew or equipment visible: When Hanson enters the dining room area to serve dinner, a crewmember’s hand is visibl stopping the door from slamming
- Continuity: When Dwight is falling from outside the window, you can see his legs flailing as if he were kicking. He is not supposed to be able to move them.
- Continuity: When Cindy begins fist fighting with Hanson (before she forms the tornado), for a split second you can see that the movie actually cuts to a shot of Theo fighting with Hanson, and not Cindy. This is noticeable as Cindy is wearing a white top, while Theo is wearing black.
- Continuity: At the end when Hanson falls from being hit by the car and we see him fall in the back mirror, his body should be seen on the road as the car drives on, but it just disappears.
- Revealing mistakes: When Hanson is getting ready to show Cindy to her room, he takes her bag of clothes and it spills open. The clothes that end up on the floor actually fall from above Hanson, not from the bag itself.
- Crew or equipment visible: Just before the basketball playing spoof, there is a shot of the staircase. On the right-hand side of the staircase, through the railing, you can see people moving around in the next room.
- Continuity: The bird poop on Dwight’s head disappears and reappears between shots.
- Continuity: When Cindy, Brenda and Buddy reunite after being chased by the skeleton, Hugh Kane gives Buddy a wedgie and Buddy has white underwear. But when Cindy and Buddy are trapped in the science room, and when Buddy unzips his pants his underwear is green.
- Revealing mistakes: When Dwight is “belted” to Ray, the device holding Dwight to Ray’s back is clearly visible under Dwight’s shirt.
- Revealing mistakes: An odd bulge in the sleeve makes the presence of the robotic device that controls Hanson’s mutated hand obvious. As well, the sleeve of that arm is clearly empty, indicating that the actor’s real arm is tucked under his clothes, perhaps even controlling the robotic hand.
- Revealing mistakes: When Dwight walks into the lab after falling off the ledge, Buddy and Ray help him off the floor. Between close-ups, Rays shirt turns from yellow to orange then yellow then orange again and then back to yellow.
- Continuity: During the ” Exorcist” spoof, the collar on the girl’s nightgown continually disappears and reappears.
- Continuity: When Cindy is fighting with the cat one minute the litter box is full, then the next minute the litter box is empty as the cat flings kitty litter at Cindy.
- Miscellaneous: When Ray goes to grab Cindy off the platform near the end of the movie, you can see the staircase behind Ray as he begins to run towards Cindy. There’s only one staircase in the movie and there should have been Cindy and Hugh Cane (the ghost) in front of the staircase, but they are nowhere to be seen while Ray is running towards them. They appear When Ray grabs Cindy off the platform.
- Continuity: In the beginning of the fight between Hanson and the three women, they do a funny pose in front of a fountain. However, for the rest of the scene, the fountain is nowhere to be seen.
- Continuity: When Puss and Cindy are fighting the, cat claws Cindy on the cheek and causes her lip to bleed. When Cindy is having breakfast with the professor the next morning, the scratches from the cat are on her chest and there is no wound on her lip.
- Continuity: When the spirit slides the blanket off Monday, we see white under the bottom hem-line of her shirt. In the next shot before the spirit slides the shirt up, the shirt is completely covering the white.
- Revealing mistakes: When Cindy is pleasuring Buddy with her hand, at the climax, he pushes his hips up. For a split second, you can see that his pants are fully on and zippered.
- Miscellaneous: When Dwight gets pushed out of the window, he falls out head first, but he still manages to hang on to the thing sticking out.
- Miscellaneous: In the dinner scene, the teens are wearing fancy clothes. Then at the basketball scene, their clothes changed to what they were wearing the next day.
- Plot holes: Theo gets the keys from Dwight, and she wants to get out of the Hell House. But she doesn’t, so she got the keys for no reason.
- Continuity: In the scene where Anna Faris seduces Tim Curry, she opens his shirt. Then after he throws her off and she gets up, his shirt is already buttoned back up and neat.
- Continuity: When Professor Oldman is talking to the group in the school auditorium, there is a briefcase on the stage behind him to the right that is open. Though you never see anyone touch the briefcase, the briefcase is closed when he is finishing the meeting.
- Crew or equipment visible: When Cindy is at the hotdog stand with Hanson we see the remote/battery pack for her mic on her back. When she turns, we see the mic wire running up to her shirt (this has been fixed in the DVD release).
- Continuity: Buddy’s infrared glasses disappear and reappear as he falls to the floor (this has been fixed in the DVD release).
- Crew or equipment visible: When Cindy is being chased by a skeleton, as it turns a corner you can see a skateboard device attached to the feet to help it move (this has been fixed in the DVD release).
