    “Final Destination 2″ Goofs List

    • Crew or equipment visible: The camera is visible going across the aquarium in the dentist’s office.
    • Continuity: At the beginning, when they first get into the car, Kimberly’s blonde friend has a few thin braids in her hair. A short while later later, her hair has no braids.
    • Continuity: After Kimberly has her first premonition (the highway), she parks her SUV across the on-ramp to block it. Yet, when her SUV gets hit by the truck, it has moved to being parked pointing onto the highway, and quite a ways out into traffic to have been hit so squarely by a passing truck.
    • Miscellaneous: SPOILER: When Tim gets smashed with a pane of glass, his body becomes horribly mutilated. However, the emergency crew carries him away as a solid/whole body.
    • Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Rory gets cut in half by the fence post, it was shot in front of a green screen with poles holding up his legs as the top half toppled off. In the film if you look in the bottom right hand corner, you can see one of his intestines hit an invisible pole, then flip over onto the ground.
    • Plot holes: SPOILER: In the end of the movie the farm boy is killed by the exploding grill.. This is explained as he was saved by the coke head from being hit by the news van, banking on people remembering the whole speech about the “ripple effect” of people surviving death which lead to all this. However, the farm boy was only put into jeopardy because of the people being alive, the news van was only there to report on their crash, and their crash wouldn’t have happened had they died. So, to sum up, the kid’s life was only in danger because they didn’t die, and it was only saved because they didn’t die, thus it would cancel each other out, he was not meant to die as he would not have died (at least not in the same way) had the main characters gotten on the highway in the beginning of the movie.
    • Continuity: SPOILER: While Evan is alive, his nipple ring is on his left nipple. When he is dead, however, the mortician removes the nipple right from his right nipple.
    • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): SPOILER: When the firefighter is trying to remove the girl from her car, the airbag deploys, shooting her head into the PVC pipe. When extricating someone from a vehicle, firefighters disconnect the car battery, which deploys the airbags.
    • Factual errors: SPOILER: During the reanimation near the end of the movie, Dr. Kalarjian defibrillates Kimberly though the EKG shows a flat line. A defibrillation is only useful if the patient suffers ventricular fibrillation (where the EKG shows fast, irregular zig-zag lines).
    • Continuity: When Evan knocks over the flaming frying pan, the handle takes the small grill off the stove, when Evan gets loose, the grill is back on the stove.
    • Continuity: The photo of Isabella Hudson on the computer that the main characters look at, is a photo of her in the jail cell, which is later in the movie.
    • Continuity: When Evan is extinguishing the flames, the floor, the counters and refrigerator are on fire, in one shot, but in another there is no fire on the counter.
    • Continuity: The position of Tim’s hands at the police station as he is about to leave.
    • Continuity: When Rory is cut in three, the close-ups on his face show a green forest behind him, but the long shots of his whole body show a forest barren of leaves.
    • Crew or equipment visible: When the coffee cup spills onto Burke’s lap, the vibrator motor attached to the bottom of the cup to make the liquid jiggle can be clearly seen.
    • Continuity: When Kimberly gets her first premonition, her car window is alternately up/down between shots.
    • Continuity: In Eugene’s hospital room, the cart that his breathing machine is on rolls away from the wall and pulls the plug far enough out of the socket to cut the power to the machine. When the door is opened a few minutes later, the plug (which now plugged all the way in) is yanked out of the socket and causes a spark.
    • Errors in geography: When Tim is in the dentist’s office, the oxygen tank on the anesthesia machine has a white label. While this is the correct label color in Canada (where the movie was filmed), in the United States (the movie is set in New York), all compressed gas tanks containing oxygen have a green label (or the entire tank is painted green).
    • Continuity: As the frying pan heats up, the flame is at medium heat. On the wide shot as Evan is reaching into the refrigerator, the flame is out.
    • Revealing mistakes: Before the premonition the talk radio show is on 104.9Mhz, after the premonition when she changes the radio stations, the same talk show is on 98.9Mhz
    • Revealing mistakes: In the premonition, both the talk radio show and “Highway to Hell” song are shown on 104.9Mhz.
    • Revealing mistakes: For a brief moment, Tim’s body disappears completely from under the glass.
    • Continuity: Just before the semi-truck bashes into Kimberly’s car, one of her friends who is closest to the window (which is about to get hit) turns and gasps. But seconds before the truck hits the car, you can clearly see Kimberly’s other friend stick his head out of the window, meaning that the two friends must have switched places.
    • Revealing mistakes: Seconds after the (real) pile-up, Shaina and Frankie gasp and turn their head. But in the wide shot of the car, you can clearly see that Dano is looking straight ahead, without turning his head to look at the crash.
    • Crew or equipment visible: During the crash you can see pneumatic rams that were used to flip the vehicles over.
    • Continuity: During the premonition on the highway, the road switches between being dry and wet between shots.
    • Revealing mistakes: When Rory is cut in half, in the wide shot (if you look closely) you can the outline of the green suit he is wearing
    • Continuity: On the highway with a police car behind her, Kimberly changes to the right lane and nearly collides with a truck, but the previous view of the rear view mirror showed they were already in the right lane; there was no truck in sight and both lanes were occupied by cars.
    • Continuity: When Officer Burke approaches Kimberly’s truck after her premonition, the camera shows a concrete barrier directly out her window, protecting her truck nearly to the front. Moments later, when the semi smashes into her truck, it hits nearly in the middle. The semi would have had to drive through the barriers to do this.
    • Factual errors: When Evan is seconds from being impaled when on the ground and the camera does the above shot and he starts to say “Jesus Christ” the ladder is not aligned with Evan’s eye.
    • Crew or equipment visible: At the opening sequence (highway collision) when Eugene Dix is pinned against the log by his own bike the wire that flops the dummy’s hand up is visible.
    • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In Kimberly’s premonition, the hobo woman getting cans shakes the bag which makes the cans fall out. After Kimberly’s premonition, the hobo woman just holds the bag and the cans just fall out.
    • Revealing mistakes: When Evan Lewis is in his apartment before the fire. His stereo turns on, but he really turns it off. You can see the display on the receiver disappear and the red standby light come on.
    • Boom mic visible: Fluffy mic seen in window of people carrier which crashes into the hay stack.
    • Continuity: When Kat is calling Brian for help after the crash, the log is straight. When Brian gets to her, it is bent.
    • Errors in geography: When Kimberly is driving the Farmer’s pickup and talking about the hospital, they clearly pass by a Canada Post mail truck on their right. The film is set in New York State.
    • Factual errors: New York State Police do not wear badges on their uniforms.
    • Factual errors: Prior to 2007 New York State Police did not use any blue lights on their patrol cars, after legislation passed in early 2007 they now use blue lighting in limited rear-facing applications not the front-facing use like in the movie.
    • Factual errors: New York State Police wear purple ties with their uniforms, not black ties as seen in the movie.
    • Factual errors: New York State citizens were required to change and update their license plates from the original Red Statue of Liberty in the Middle to the blue mountain background (shown on the Police Car); cars that still had the Red Statue of Liberty license plate were not allowed on the road; however, both license plates were used in this film.
    • Continuity: When Evan’s car hits
