“Dragonheart” Goofs List
- Continuity: The flights on Brother Gilbert’s arrow change during his first archery scene.
- Continuity: The amount of mud on Kara’s face after the villagers have pelted her with fruit.
- Revealing mistakes: A tombstone at Avalon wobbles.
- Miscellaneous: Young Prince’s braces visible when he screams trying to help his father.
- Revealing mistakes: Crops and trees unaffected by downdraft of dragon’s wings.
- Continuity: The dragon’s tooth that Bowen holds in the first fight changes shape twice.
- Anachronisms: In the opening scenes of the old castle ruins, white apartment buildings of the nearby village of Chachtice are momentarily visible.
- Continuity: Position of young Einon’s arm as he kneels down to his dying father.
- Revealing mistakes: In the last scene, Draco’s and Bowen’s shadows (from the same light source) overlap instead of merging.
- Revealing mistakes: When Einon follows his mother into the shadowed doorway just before he kills her, you can just barely see that he is still walking normally, even as his mother screams.
- Anachronisms: At the beginning of the film a title shows the date as 984 A.D. Many of the knights are carrying tear drop shaped shields. These came to England with the Normans in 1066 A.D., nearly 100 years later.
- Continuity: When the knight is helping to train the villagers to go against the king, the monk is just learning how to shoot a bow and arrow. When he goes for the second shot, the end of the arrow (feathers) is spotted black and white, but the next second, as he brings it up to his ear, it has a white feather instead of the black and white one.. and it’s still the same shot.
- Anachronisms: Kara says in the film that farmers can only throw tomatoes at maidens. In the middle ages in Europe there were not tomatoes, since tomatoes came from America, discovered at the end of the XV century.
- Revealing mistakes: In the last scene, due to the cold temperature, the live-action characters’ breath is visible. The CGI dragon’s, however, is not.
