• Continuity: You can see a poster on a record store with the chipmunks wearing their sweaters before Dave makes them.
• Continuity: In the lobby, when the chipmunks climb out of the tree, they run past a girl in a pink top twice.
• Continuity: In the scene when Dave is late for work and almost forgets his pants, his old Pro Stereo skateboard is against the wall to the left of the front door. When he returns from his meeting, the board is to the right of the door and leaning in the corner.
• Continuity: When Dave is discovering the chipmunks, the bowl in the middle (while upside down) changes position between camera shots.
• Continuity: The position of Dave’s music equipment when he is retrieving it out of the rain is different from the position it landed when he threw it outside.
• Continuity: In the dress room scene before their world tour concert. you can see Uncle Ian in the mirror but when Alvin turns around, Uncle Ian is not in the reflection.
• Continuity: The “coloring” that the chipmunks did on Dave’s presentation posters depicted Simon with glasses. But the drawings were done before it was discovered that he needed glasses.
• Continuity: In the scene after Dave loses his job he writes a letter explaining that things aren’t working out, and prepares a box for the chipmunks. He closes the box and pokes five random holes in the top. Moments later he changes his mind, and goes to the closet to put the box away on a high shelf. As he lifts it, you can clearly see seven neatly spaced holes.
• Continuity: In the kitchen cupboard scene, Theodore chews a large hole in a box of Lucky Charms and eats some of the cereal. Seconds later Alvin dumps the bag of cheese balls on Theodore and the Lucky Charms box can be seen again without a hole chewed in it.
• Continuity: When Dave throws the basket of muffins in the metal trash can, one of the trash can handles is clearly visible as the camera zooms out. Moments later the camera zooms back in on the trash can and the handle cannot be seen.
• Continuity: When Dave is lying on the couch watching television, two large jars can be seen on the counter top behind him. When he gets up moments later to investigate the noises in the kitchen, the jar with the white lid is no longer there.
• Continuity: When Alvin is playing with the toy rockets, he throws a few of them in one shot and the launcher is empty. In the next shot there is a fresh trio of rockets.
• Continuity: When Ian takes Simon’s glasses away and gives him new ones, Simon has the old glasses in the following montage.
• Continuity: The morning Dave gets up and finds the chipmunks making toaster waffles, he finds a stack under the rug. He picks them up and they are drenched in syrup. From there he goes to sing his song and never washes his hands but his hands are clean when he starts playing the piano.
• Errors in geography: When the Chipmunks go on tour and cities are listed, it says, “Phoenix, NV,” not, “Phoenix, AZ,” when it was clear from the map that they were in Phoenix, Arizona.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): During the premiere party Simon says if he continues to eat he will go into insulin shock. Insulin shock occurs when a diabetic does not eat for an extended period of time. Given that there is never any other indication that Simon is diabetic, it’s possible that he said it simply because it “sounds cool”, without really understanding what he was saying.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Claire is taking pictures of the Chipmunks at the party you can see a flash go off directly at them, even though Claire’s camera flash is in the off (retracted) position. However, the Chipmunks are being flashed at every few seconds throughout the scene, even before Claire comes to their table, and after she leaves as well. It’s obvious that all those flashes come from the other cameras nearby, not from Claire’s.
• Revealing mistakes: When Dave runs out of his home to get dinner for his date with Claire the time is 6:30 pm but it is still daylight. The movie occurs shortly before Christmas and at that time of year it would be dark at 6:30 pm.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): At the launch party, Ian shows Dave what he claims is a “Spanish” Alvin doll, which says “Konbanwa. Watashi wa Alvin desu” in Japanese, not Spanish.
• Continuity: In the scene where Dave opens the cupboard, there is a bag of Utz brand cheese balls. Utz brand is only distributed on the east coast.

• Continuity: During the Wild Rumpus before all the Wild things jump into a pile on top of Max, K.W. says “Look out Max!” but at this point he hasn’t told anyone his name.
• Errors in geography: Scenes supposedly set in United States suburbia often show Eucalyptus trees and other Australian vegetation, revealing the scenes were actually filmed in Australia.
• Continuity: When Max is falling head over heels down the sand dune, his crown comes flying off twice.
• Continuity: During the “Rumpus”, When Carol jumps straight up into a tree trunk, he falls back on his front. When the camera cuts to Max then back to Carol, He is now on his back.
• Revealing mistakes: In the early scenes in which Max is outside playing in the snow there are leaves on the trees and roses in bloom. You can’t see his breath in the air and it doesn’t fog the window. If you look closely in some shots you can see a light fog in the air created by the cold manufactured snow on a warm day.

“The Hunchback of Notre Dame” Goofs List

• Continuity: The gargoyles used for drainage are supposed to be hollow, but when Frollo breaks them they are solid.
• Continuity: The grapes on Quasimodo’s plate change from scene to scene.
• Continuity: The lead that Quasimodo pours soon disappears.
• Continuity: Quasimodo swings down from the top of the bell tower to the ground on a rope that was previously only about 15 feet long.
• Continuity: When Esmeralda sings “God Help the Outcasts” while passing people in Notre Dame, the gold coins from her sash are missing.
• Continuity: When Phoebus is shot the arrow strikes him in the back. Later the wound is seen to be in the front, with no wound visible in the back.
• Continuity: The bugs crawling on the block that Frollo holds while talking to Phoebus about the Court of Miracles.
• Factual errors: The Festival of Fools takes place at Twelfth Night, on January 6 – the song “Topsy Turvy” mentions “the sixth of ‘Januervy”‘. But in a later scene, Frollo brings Quasimodo fresh grapes. Grapes are not ripe in January in France.
• Continuity: During the “Out There” number, when Quasimodo sings “If I was in their skin”, he is standing over a wall completely in shadow. When he slides down the flying buttress in the very next shot, the wall is brightly lit.
• Continuity: Before Quasimodo turns to talk to the baby pigeon, the nest is empty. In the very next shot, the pigeon is clearly visible in the nest, even before it wakes up.
• Continuity: When Esmeralda and Quasimodo are about to jump off the top of Notre Dame, Esmeralda ties a kerchief around Djali’s eyes and it wraps around the top of his head. In the next shot, however, the kerchief is wrapped vertically, from top to bottom, and it looks much larger.
• Continuity: When Frollo gets angry with Quasimodo for helping Esmeralda escape Notre Dame he slams the sculpture of her down on the table close to and on the left side of a candle. In the next shot the sculpture is on the right side and is farther away from the candle.
• Continuity: When Quasimodo is desperate to hide Phoebus beneath his table he knocks over the small sculpture of Frollo. In the next shot it is Esmeralda’s sculpture that has been knocked over.
• Anachronisms: When Quasimodo is seen singing “Out There” on the cathedral’s roof we can see a set of copper green statues – the 12 apostles – around the central needle. These statues were not added until the XIX century during a general restoration directed by Viollet-le-Duc, a French architect who had read Victor Hugo’s novel and was concerned about the possibility of Notre Dame being demolished, as some authorities of the time had considered. Consequently, it would have been impossible to see those statues at the time the movie is set.
• Anachronisms: In the movie, Notre Dame is seen with a wide square in front of it. However, during the time the movie is set (XV-XVI century) this square did not exist. It was occupied by the Hotel Dieu, a medieval hospital which was not demolished until the XIX century.
• Miscellaneous: At the time of the movie, the use of digital technology to create large crowds of people was fairly new. Thus in many places if you watch the crowds instead of the main characters, you can clearly see how the crowd members all have simple, almost undefined faces and move in very computerized ways. This is especially easy to see at the end of the movie when the little girl pulls Quasimodo into the crowd – watch the crowd that parts for them. Other good examples are just after that when the crowd carries Quasimodo across the square (watch individual crowd members), at the Festival of Fools, and in the shot during the final battle where the gypsies and villagers, moving en mass towards the cathedral, are seen from above.
• Continuity: When Frollo picks up a piece of the rail, to make his point about the gypsies, the curved edges of the rail are facing towards him, but in the next shot, when he slams it down, the rail fragment is facing the other way.
• Continuity: During the song “Bells of Notre Dame,” the Archdeacon’s eyebrows change from gray to black.
• Continuity: While Frollo is singing “Hellfire”, he pulls out Esmeralda’s sash. At various points throughout the song, the sash disappears and reappears in his hands.
• Continuity: The helmet Esmeralda tosses (that Phoebus ducks at) stops directly over his shoulder past his head, rather than continuing past him to fall to the ground.
• Continuity: In the scene where Phoebus is arriving in Paris and looking for the Palace of Justice, Achilles sits on one of the soldiers and Phoebus cuts off half of his mustache with his sword. However, in the scene where Quasimodo is being tormented at the festival, the focus goes back to the same soldier. In some scenes he has his entire mustache, in other scenes only half.
• Anachronisms: All the exterior sculptures on the Cathedral are shown as plain, natural-colored stone. At the time the story is set, they were polychromatic – painted in colors.
• Continuity: Frollo does not age at all over the course of the film, even though twenty years have passed from his opening scene.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: Just as Frollo starts scolding Quasimodo for helping Esmeralda escape Notre Dame, he knocks Quasi to the floor. In the next shot, Quasi is seen mouthing something like, “But I…”, but no sound is heard.

• Continuity: Ron receives the “Howler” from his mother. After his owl, Errol, crashes into the table, you can see that the red envelope is open. As Ron removes it from Errol’s mouth. We then see Ron breaking the seal on this envelope so he can read it.
• Continuity: When Harry and Ron’s car is caught by the tree, a limb smashes a hole in the rear window but the hole is missing in one shot when the car tips forward while falling out of the tree.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: At the beginning of the transfiguration lesson, the writing on the blackboard behind Professor McGonagall is reversed, and this has been reported as a flipped shot. However, further observation reveals that the right-hand board is, for undisclosed wizardy reasons, a mirror image of the left-hand board and so this is not an error.
• Continuity: When Harry and Ron are in the Dark Forest and the spiders begin to attack, Hagrid’s dog gets in the car twice.
• Revealing mistakes: When Ron is on all fours beginning to cough up slugs, Harry says, “Let’s take him to Hagrid’s.” Hermione mouths the lines with him.
• Continuity: At all times the Locomotive ‘Hogwarts Castle’ is played by a Great Western Railway Hall Class Locomotive. However, when Harry and Ron are in the car and look behind them to see the train bearing down on them the front of the engine is quite different, although the numberplate and nameboard are the same.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Harry is reading off the paper that explains the Basilisk, he says “Spiders flee before it”, but his mouth is saying something else. What Harry is actually saying is “and the crowing of a rooster can kill it.” A scene was filmed, but cut in the theatrical version that shows Harry running into Hagrid, who is carrying a dead rooster and explaining that it’s the second one he’s found dead. The scene was later added on the second disc of the DVD as part of the deleted scenes section. The full text of what Harry is saying is “Spiders flee before it, and the crowing of a rooster can kill it.”
• Continuity: When Harry is chasing after Dobby in his house and they get to the downstairs hallway they both stop running. Harry stops and he has one leg in front of him. In the next shot, the other leg is in front of him instead.
• Revealing mistakes: When the Weasleys’ enchanted car has ejected them and Ron and Harry are chasing the car, you can see the hand and silhouette of the driver.
• Revealing mistakes: Near the end of the film, when Harry and Ron find out that Lockhart’s a fake, they push him towards the stone washstand in the girls’ bathroom. When Lockhart touches the stand, it shakes considerably, proving that it isn’t stone.
• Continuity: When Professor Lockhart is knocked backwards by Professor Snape’s charm during their duel, his wand can be seen flying through the air. When he lands, however, the wand is back in his hand.
• Crew or equipment visible: Just after Harry and Ron realize the basilisk is getting around by using the pipes, they walk fast down a corridor to warn people. Wires from a camera or a boom mic are visible on the left-hand side of the screen.
• Revealing mistakes: When Crabbe and Goyle pluck the chocolate cupcakes out of mid-air, you can see the shadow of the string on Goyle’s face.
• Continuity: When Ron and Harry run into Professor Lockhart’s office, after they’ve just found out that Ginny has been taken into the Chamber of Secrets, Lockhart can be seen briefly in a mirror beside the door, waiting for his cue.
• Continuity: When Harry and Ron are in the Whomping Willow tree, one of the branches punches a dent in the roof of the car, but when the car drives away the dent is gone.
• Continuity: When Harry goes through the large round door and enters the Chamber of Secrets, he is carrying his wand in his left hand. When he sees Ginny on the ground and runs to her side, he clearly drops his wand from his right hand.
• Crew or equipment visible: The green puppet used to represent Dobby during the shoot is reflected in Harry’s glasses.
• Continuity: When Harry and Ron are in the car trying to get away from the spiders, Fang (in the back seat) is alternately sitting down, standing up, leaning forward, and looking out the back window between shots.
• Continuity: When Harry’s cart hits the barrier between platforms 9 and 10, Hedwig’s cage door very clearly pops open. In the next shot she is shown ruffling her feathers with a very closed cage door.
• Crew or equipment visible: When Snape leans over to pick Draco up after he has been thrown through the air by Harry’s spell in the dueling scene, a crew member in blue jeans can be seen on the far left.
• Revealing mistakes: When the pixies drop Neville on the chandelier, the pointy plastic ears used when the pixies pull him up are still on him after they let go.
• Continuity: Lockhart’s cloak goes from flayed out to straight down between shots when he is sprawled between two stone basins at the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets.
• Crew or equipment visible: When the spiders are coming out in great numbers, stage lights are visible.
• Continuity: When Harry and Ron go in to Lockhart’s office, Lockhart is not wearing a cloak. But when they arrive in Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom Lockhart has a cloak on.
• Revealing mistakes: When Hedwig puts her beak on the lock at the beginning of the movie, a key is visible in the lock.
• Revealing mistakes: When Ron, the twins, and Harry enter the Weasley home toward the beginning of the movie, there is a pan washing itself in the sink. You can see the edge of the circular cut-out in the pan used to make the brush spin in a circle.
• Revealing mistakes: At several points while Harry is in the Chamber of Secrets, the ceiling of the sound stage can be seen reflected in the great pool of water.
• Continuity: When Harry and Ron are in the car being chased by the spiders, Ron switches gears with Harry’s hand over his. The clothing sleeves shown on them in that brief shot are not the clothes they’re wearing in that scene, but what they’d worn in the earlier flying car scene at the beginning of the movie.
• Continuity: It takes Gilderoy Lockhart 6 seconds to fall down the entry to the Chamber of Secrets, but it takes Harry and Ron three times as long. In addition, when Harry and Ron land in the bone-covered room, crunching noises are heard from their landing on the bones. When Gilderoy landed in the room ahead of them, the crunching noises are missing (though they may have been too faint to hear over a distance in the tunnel).
• Continuity: When Harry is flipping through his photo album at the very beginning of the movie, he views a picture of himself, Ron, and Hermione that should’ve been taken during the last school year, however, it’s clearly a recent photograph as Ron and Harry both sport longer hair, and Hermione’s hair is curlier.
• Miscellaneous: When Harry is entering the Weasley’s house, he sees a pair of bewitched knitting needles. The needles are clacking together, but not actually knitting any stitches.
• Continuity: Harry is in Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley and hides in the sarcophagus when the Malfoys enter. His glasses were broken when he enters the sarcophagus, but are intact when he first leaves the sarcophagus. A few seconds later, however, they’re broken again.
• Revealing mistakes: When Harry tries to run through the wall to Platform 9 3/4 but bumps into the wall instead, you can see an obvious dummy of the owl inside the cage when it falls over.
• Continuity: For most of the movie, it is shown that Moaning Myrtle is not solid, and that solid objects pass through her. However, when she jumps into the toilet, the water splashes. A splash can only be made by a solid object having sudden impact with water (this was also an error in the book). In the fourth film, Myrtle is shown diving into a full bathtub and not making any splash at all.
• Crew or equipment visible: In the scene where Ron and Harry turn into Crabbe and Goyle, as they leave a crew member can be seen crouching in the background behind Malfoy.
• Continuity: When Harry, Ron and Fang are fleeing the forest, Fang can be seen entering the car twice.
• Continuity: In the girls’ bathroom, immediately after Hermione says “add the hairs”, Ron can be seen with an empty hand. In the next shot, he is putting the hairs into the glass with that same hand.
• Continuity: Dumbledore asks, “Why then did the Sorting Hat place you in Gryffindor?” and in this close-up the Sorting Hat sits on two books. In the next shot, as Harry answers, “Because I asked it to.” The hat now sits on three books in

• Revealing mistakes: When Marco is playing the piano at his parent’s restaurant, the song he is playing is filled with sustained chords and legato melodies; which would require the foot pedal to be used quite often in order to achieve the sound that is heard. However, when the camera pans back to show underneath the piano, the pedal is not moving.
• Factual errors: Mr. Cranston asks Denise to be the accompanist for the school’s upcoming production of “Chicago”. In the year 2009, this would not be possible since the licensing company which handles the theatrical rights for “Chicago” restricts the show from being produced (even by amateur groups and schools) anywhere in the greater New York area while there is an open-ended production running on Broadway.

• Continuity: When E.T. gets on his ship, Elliot’s mother gets up twice, and Elliot is (not) holding his dog by the collar.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Mary reads “Peter Pan” to Gertie, there’s a view of her silhouette on the closet door slats. Her lips don’t match the narration.
• Continuity: At the end, when E.T. and Elliott are hugging, when the camera is behind E.T., Elliott’s arms are all the way around him, but when the camera is behind Elliott, his hands are on E.T.’s shoulders.
• Crew or equipment visible: When E.T.’s being chased by the government workers and running back to the spaceship, you see a pole behind E.T. pushing him. This is right before you see the alien in the spaceship as it’s leaving.
• Revealing mistakes: One of the boys moves his lips in sync with Elliot’s line, “Nobody go out there.”
• Continuity: The street the boys turn onto during the chase when the boy says “we made it” isn’t the same street as they had turned into. There should have been houses, but instead there were just trees and cars.
• Continuity: When Elliot returns with a snack for a frightened E.T. hiding among stuffed animals in his toy closet and asks “want a Coke?”, the stuffed animals around E.T. fall down, knocking off some chips from Elliot’s plate on to the animals. There are already chips on one of the animals as it falls, before it has a chance to actually touch the plate (possibly left behind from earlier takes).
• Continuity: Elliot crashes his bike during the chase through the new housing development, but is back in the pack an impossibly short time later.
• Continuity: After one of the kids whips off his balaclava and says, “We made it!” during the bike chase, a hoard of government agents rush into the street behind him. In the next shot of Michael reacting, his friend takes off the balaclava again and the agents run into the street again.
• Factual errors: Almost everything about the phases and appearance of the moon is wrong for the northern hemisphere.
• Crew or equipment visible: When Elliot, Michael, and E.T arrive at the park after escaping the scientists, a ramp can be seen where they drive over the curb.
• Continuity: When E.T. is alone in the house and misspells “nuisance” on the toy, we see that the back panel has been removed, but in the next shot the panel is back on. Later, when E.T. drags the blanket with the “phone” ingredients on it, the panel is back off.
• Continuity: At the beginning when the men are searching for E.T., the keys on the “Key Man” keep changing sides between shots.
• Continuity: The size of the eye holes on E.T’s ghost outfit change shape and size several times (most noticeable when Michael finds the abandoned outfit when he is looking for E.T.)
• Revealing mistakes: The silhouette of the mime wearing the E.T. gloves can be seen through the railing when Elliot is luring E.T. with the Reese’s Pieces.
• Revealing mistakes: When “Keys” goes inside the Clean room created for ET and Elliot, he and others wear a “Clean Suit” , but the tubes coming out of the helmet go nowhere, not even a filter, meaning they are breathing contaminated air and that the suit is useless.
• Continuity: When the plastic hallway with the scientists in it detaches from the speeding van, the ramp that was seen in the shots before is gone.
• Miscellaneous: When E.T. is walking outside during Halloween, the eye holes on his sheet are far apart and only one is matched up to his eyes. However, the shots of what E.T. is seeing through his sheet show the two eye holes lined up close together.
• Revealing mistakes: [20th Anniversary edition] The government agents and police have had their hand guns replaced by walkie-talkies… but they are still extending their trigger fingers for no apparent reason.
• Revealing mistakes: When the boys are racing away on their bicycles from the Feds, the stunt doubles for Elliott and his friends are obviously way too tall to be children.
• Factual errors: In addition to the other lunar errors, at first we see a crescent moon then the famous full moon being crossed by the bicycles (later to become Amblin Entertainment’s signature logo). From thin crescent to full moon takes about half a lunar cycle, 14 days, but the time frame of the movie suggested only a few days at most.
• Continuity: When the boys are playing around the kitchen table, the cigarette and ashtray disappear.
• Continuity: In the 20th Aniversary edition, in the scene where Eliott is showing E.T. the bathroom and is then on the phone with his mother, the coke can changes designs. At first, it is the older version from 1982, then it changes to the updated 2002 can design. It switches back and forth for the entire length of the scene.
• Continuity: When Elliot thinks ET is dying, and is talking to him through the window of the box, the towel that is wrapped around Elliot keeps changing position – sometimes it is wrapped tightly around his neck, and other times it reveals a bit of his left side.
• Continuity: Elliott is given money and told to wait for the pizza guy outside, indicating the pizza has been ordered and on its way. But a line or two later, the boys ask him to make sure he orders lots of pepperoni and sausage. He is then seen outside meeting the driver at the foot of the driveway.
• Continuity: The first time E.T. makes Elliott’s bike fly, E.T.’s sheet goes from opened to wrapped tightly in alternating views – wrapped in far shots, opened in close-ups.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Early in the film, Mike backs the family car down the driveway, then drives it a short distance back up. But when he and Elliot hijack the van near the end, Mike claims he’s never driven forward before.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When E.T. takes a can of beer from the fridge, we see Harvey the dog bark twice – but we don’t hear the first bark.
• Continuity: When Gertie is waiting with the bike at the rendezvous, the sun is just about to set behind the mountains. Yet there is still plenty of daylight for the Halloween street scenes. The sun is then shown much higher above a smaller foothill. Finally, when the kids and E.T. meet up at the bicycle, the sun has just dropped below the mountain peak.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Some are confused when E.T. magically heals Elliot’s cut finger that the blood disappears. E.T.’s true powers are not fully known so it is possible E.T. made the blood go back into his body along with healing the wound.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: Near the beginning of the film, when the trucks race through the woods approaching the expected location of the spaceship landing, one of the trucks “screeches” when it stops. A vehicle’s tires would not screech on wet, muddy ground.
• Crew or equipment visible: As Michael leads Mary into the bathroom where Elliot and E.T. lay sick, the camera dollies backwards, brushing past and visibly disturbing an indoor bamboo tree.
• Continuity: Gertie’s hamburger changes size, and eventually disappears (inconsistent with her eating it).
• Continuity: E.T.’s potted plant is suddenly much larger when Gertie and Mary are in the car right before the bicycle chase gets underway. The plant returns to its original, smaller size when Gertie gives it back to E.T. before he leaves.
• Factual errors: When Elliot goes to sleep outside to look for E.T., the moon is directly behind him. When he is awakened several hours later, the moon is in the same position.

• Continuity: When Other Father starts playing the piano, the piano gloves go on his hands while he is facing Coraline. After he turns around, the gloves switch hands.
• Continuity: In the scene when Coraline firsts sees her father, she places the Coraline doll down on a box. In the shot, the Coraline doll’s arm is hanging over the edge, but in the next shot, the doll’s arm is by its side.
• Factual errors: Mr. Bobinsky is Russian, but the flag in front of his door is Montenegrin, with one minor difference: The original has a lion passant in the centre, while Mr. Bobinsky’s has a horseman.
• Continuity: While Coraline is eating dinner with her “other parents” she has an empty glass and a full water glass. When Coraline is shown again the water glass is half empty and again when Coraline is shown there is no water glass present at all.
• Continuity: When Coraline first looks at the picture frame next to her bed, the “3″ from “at 7:30″ is missing and “Coraline” is spelled “Coral1n3″ on the depicted sign. In the next shot, when she holds the frame in her hands, it says “7:30″ and “Coral1ne”.
• Continuity: Watch very closely during the opening as the Beldam unstuffs the doll, and restuffs it. When you see the doll inside out in full, look down at her feet, with the heel stitches on the same side of the body as the face.

• Continuity: In the opening scene when the Germans are bombing London, the shot of the sky shows that it is very cloudy. However, when Peter and Edmund are running after retrieving the photo, the planes are clearly visible and are not masked by any clouds.
• Continuity: When Edmund meets the White Witch, her servant forces Edmund onto the ground. He has snow in his ear. In the next shot it is gone, then it comes back again. When he stands up, the snow is gone again.
• Continuity: In the final battle with the Witch, Jadis first stabs Peter through the middle of his sword arm and the grass is green. When the shot is cut back to Peter and Jadis, the sword is only going through the chain mail on the upper part of his arm and the grass is brown.
• Anachronisms: The coaches of the train on which the Pevensie children travel have Great Western Railway colors and lettering. The engine, No. 7802 Bradley Manor, is painted and lettered for British Railways, which did not form until 1948, after the war ended.
• Continuity: When Lucy is talking to Tumnus after entering Narnia for the first time, she touches the lamp post which is covered by snow. Her fingerprints in the post change positions many times.
• Continuity: When Lucy opens the wardrobe for the first time, three moth balls fall out. The camera backs off and you see all three of the moth balls stop in plain sight. Lucy turns around and then steps into the wardrobe. When the camera backs off again (showing Lucy closing the wardrobe door) the moth balls are gone.
• Continuity: Peter’s label changes position during the back and forth while talking with Mrs. Macready.
• Continuity: When entering Narnia, Susan has a hairpin in her hair on the right side of her head. A few shots later the hairpin is gone.
• Continuity: When the kids meet Mr. Beaver, Peter and Susan are holding hands on Peter’s arm. In the next shot, they let go but in the shot after that, they are holding hands on his arm again.
• Continuity: The position of Mr. Tumnus’s dropped packages on the ground.
• Continuity: When Lucy first enters Narnia and meets Mr. Tumnus she hides behind the lamp. When she comes out from behind it she has snow up the front of her dress to her waist, in the next shot she only has snow at the hem of her dress.
• Continuity: When Edmund first enters Narnia and falls on the ground, his hair is flared out when he is lying in the snow, but perfect in the next shot as he begins to stand up.
• Continuity: When Edmund is eating Turkish Delights after meeting the White Witch, the food changes hands (right-left-right) several times, and the powdered sugar on his clothing and mouth change position between shots.
• Continuity: When the children are running around in the house trying to find a hiding place while playing hide and seek, Lucy’s dress changes from purple to brown.
• Continuity: When Peter is fighting the Witch and turns around to see Aslan, he has a cut on his right side of his face, above his eye. The blood had run down past his eye. When Lucy heals Edmund the blood trickle is smaller.
• Continuity: When Lucy pulls back the tree branches to enter Narnia for the first time, her hair is curled inward. When she feels the snow and looks around, her hair is curled outward. Then when she looks up, it is inward again.
• Continuity: When Susan, Lucy and Peter find Edmund lying on the ground (after the battle), Susan is sitting to the side to Edmund’s head and proceeds to take off his helmet. In the next shot, Edmund’s head is resting on Susan’s knee.
• Continuity: When the Pevensie children are playing cricket, the ball hits Edmund and bounces to his right. A second later Susan picks it up from behind him and to his left.
• Revealing mistakes: Peter’s sword can be seen bending multiple times throughout the movie as though it was made of aluminum or rubber.
• Continuity: After the fox has just been turned to stone, The White Witch slaps Edmund on the right side of his face, but later on in the film, he has a bruise on his left side and nothing on his right.
• Continuity: During the coronation scene after they have all been crowned they sit down on their thrones. Afterwards there is a zoom in on all of their faces, but when they zoom in on Peter’s face he is clearly still standing in front of his throne not sitting in it.
• Continuity: When entering the camp there are two long shots of the three, in the first shot Susan has knee socks on, in the second of the shots it looks as if she had no knee socks.
• Continuity: Toward the film’s end, when Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy walk alongside Aslan toward the end of the film in order to be crowned, there is a brief side shot where someone other than William Moseley is playing Peter.
• Continuity: When Lucy, Peter, Susan and the Beavers are just coming out of the tunnel, just before Lucy falls, her coat is on, then when she falls and they have a close up of her, her coat is off. When she is walking with Peter and Susan her coat is back on again.
• Factual errors: In the beginning, when the German airplanes are bombing London and Edmund and Peter are in the garden in front of their house, you can see the shadows of the airplanes on the ground. This is not possible because it is night and there is no light above the airplanes that could cause those shadows. On the contrary, searchlights tried to discover those airplanes from below pointing into the sky. If there was a light above the airplanes strong enough to create shadows, they would be moving much faster.
• Continuity: When Susan goes to practice her bow Lucy joins her. Lucy then throws her knife at the target and hits the bullseye dead on. When the camera pans back to Lucy with a big grin on her face you can see her knife tucked safely away in its sheath.
• Revealing mistakes: When Aslan jumps at the White Witch just before she can kill Peter, the Witch can be seen starting to fly backwards as if struck before Aslan’s front paws actually touch her.
• Revealing mistakes: In the railway station, the train is stationary in several shots when it is supposed to be moving. The doors are alternately open and closed in these same shots. In some shots, the train’s billowing smoke column disappears entirely. At one point just before the children get on (and we see the caption: directed by Andrew Adamson), the train simply vanishes for a short time during the shot overlooking the station.
• Continuity: During the coronation, Mr. Tumnus places a crown on Lucy’s head. The front of the crown rests about 1 inch from her hairline. (Where her hair meets her forehead.) As the shots go back and forth between Lucy and Tumnus the crown gets closer to the hairline, resting just above her forehead and back again.
• Continuity: When Peter finds the note about the capture of Mr. Tumnus, he pulls it down off the nail, ripping the top edge of the paper. In a following shot the top edge of the paper can be seen fully intact, then ripped again.
• Revealing mistakes: When Susan and Lucy are riding on Aslan’s back to the castle, he is traveling at a great speed, but they are sitting upright and their hair is hanging down as if they were sitting still.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Several times cheetahs and leopards can be heard snarling like mountain lions, but this is no more incredible than lions and gryphons speaking English.
• Continuity: When Edmund follows Lucy into the wardrobe, Lucy closes the door to the wardrobe, then as Edmund walks into the room the door is shown slightly open, then it is closed again when he goes to open it.
• Continuity: At the beginning of the movie and all throughout Lucy’s hair is red. Near the middle of the movie her hair starts getting progressively darker, especially after meeting Aslan at the camp. When she is crowned her hair is completely dark. When they show the older version of her she has red hair and when she falls out of the wardrobe she has red hair. It stays red for the rest of the movie.
• Crew or equipment visible: During the final battle, when one of the centaurs charges the Queen’s soldiers, one of the animal soldiers attacks him. When he kills the soldier, a harness is clearly visible as it hoists the soldier up in the air as he falls to the ground.
• Revealing mistakes: When Tumnus walks Lucy through the snow to his home, Tumnus should be leaving hoof prints, but leaves James McAvoy’s boot prints instead.
• Continuity: At the beginning of the battle, Jadis appears from behind the hill with all her troops, stopping close to an upper natural “step” in front of her. Later, she orders her bears to move, but we don’t see her falling – the step
