• Continuity: You can see a poster on a record store with the chipmunks wearing their sweaters before Dave makes them.
• Continuity: In the lobby, when the chipmunks climb out of the tree, they run past a girl in a pink top twice.
• Continuity: In the scene when Dave is late for work and almost forgets his pants, his old Pro Stereo skateboard is against the wall to the left of the front door. When he returns from his meeting, the board is to the right of the door and leaning in the corner.
• Continuity: When Dave is discovering the chipmunks, the bowl in the middle (while upside down) changes position between camera shots.
• Continuity: The position of Dave’s music equipment when he is retrieving it out of the rain is different from the position it landed when he threw it outside.
• Continuity: In the dress room scene before their world tour concert. you can see Uncle Ian in the mirror but when Alvin turns around, Uncle Ian is not in the reflection.
• Continuity: The “coloring” that the chipmunks did on Dave’s presentation posters depicted Simon with glasses. But the drawings were done before it was discovered that he needed glasses.
• Continuity: In the scene after Dave loses his job he writes a letter explaining that things aren’t working out, and prepares a box for the chipmunks. He closes the box and pokes five random holes in the top. Moments later he changes his mind, and goes to the closet to put the box away on a high shelf. As he lifts it, you can clearly see seven neatly spaced holes.
• Continuity: In the kitchen cupboard scene, Theodore chews a large hole in a box of Lucky Charms and eats some of the cereal. Seconds later Alvin dumps the bag of cheese balls on Theodore and the Lucky Charms box can be seen again without a hole chewed in it.
• Continuity: When Dave throws the basket of muffins in the metal trash can, one of the trash can handles is clearly visible as the camera zooms out. Moments later the camera zooms back in on the trash can and the handle cannot be seen.
• Continuity: When Dave is lying on the couch watching television, two large jars can be seen on the counter top behind him. When he gets up moments later to investigate the noises in the kitchen, the jar with the white lid is no longer there.
• Continuity: When Alvin is playing with the toy rockets, he throws a few of them in one shot and the launcher is empty. In the next shot there is a fresh trio of rockets.
• Continuity: When Ian takes Simon’s glasses away and gives him new ones, Simon has the old glasses in the following montage.
• Continuity: The morning Dave gets up and finds the chipmunks making toaster waffles, he finds a stack under the rug. He picks them up and they are drenched in syrup. From there he goes to sing his song and never washes his hands but his hands are clean when he starts playing the piano.
• Errors in geography: When the Chipmunks go on tour and cities are listed, it says, “Phoenix, NV,” not, “Phoenix, AZ,” when it was clear from the map that they were in Phoenix, Arizona.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): During the premiere party Simon says if he continues to eat he will go into insulin shock. Insulin shock occurs when a diabetic does not eat for an extended period of time. Given that there is never any other indication that Simon is diabetic, it’s possible that he said it simply because it “sounds cool”, without really understanding what he was saying.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Claire is taking pictures of the Chipmunks at the party you can see a flash go off directly at them, even though Claire’s camera flash is in the off (retracted) position. However, the Chipmunks are being flashed at every few seconds throughout the scene, even before Claire comes to their table, and after she leaves as well. It’s obvious that all those flashes come from the other cameras nearby, not from Claire’s.
• Revealing mistakes: When Dave runs out of his home to get dinner for his date with Claire the time is 6:30 pm but it is still daylight. The movie occurs shortly before Christmas and at that time of year it would be dark at 6:30 pm.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): At the launch party, Ian shows Dave what he claims is a “Spanish” Alvin doll, which says “Konbanwa. Watashi wa Alvin desu” in Japanese, not Spanish.
• Continuity: In the scene where Dave opens the cupboard, there is a bag of Utz brand cheese balls. Utz brand is only distributed on the east coast.

• Continuity: When Szpilman crawls past the woman who was shot in the back and died kneeling in front of the hospital (before she reached the staircase), she has moved forward visibly (and is now in front of the stairs).
• Anachronisms: When Szpilman is playing in the closing scenes, the piano’s logo “Steinway & Sons” is the modernized style that came into use in the 1990s.
• Continuity: When Szpilman is crossing the bridge, the same extra (wearing the glasses) passes him twice, in the space of two shots.
• Anachronisms: When “the pianist” goes to his friend of last resort for help it is deep winter in Poland with snow. On the table in his friends flat is a bunch of fresh yellow roses. How do you get roses in mid-winter wartime Poland? Also, the following morning the roses have mysteriously changed to apricot-colored roses.
• Continuity: The tin of gherkins Szpilman finds in the destroyed house changes size between shots.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Szpilman’s father is slapped by the German officer, the officer is obviously wearing gloves which should not have made a sharp sound.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The bayonet used by the German sergeant to open the sack of beans is not German issue. It appears to be a Turkish Model 1890 bayonet. However, in war it is common to use a weapon stolen or bought from another country.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: There is a scene in which Szpilman is walking in formation along the street with a group of Jewish workmen. A German officer selects various men and then executes them one by one by shooting them in the head. As the last man is shot. The hollow sound of a spent shell casing striking the ground is heard. Instead of an empty shell, a complete cartridge with the bullet is shown falling to the ground.
• Anachronisms: The infamous Sports Palace speech by Josef Goebbels (18th February 1943) is heard on the radio in 1939.
• Continuity: When Szpilman is told he has to leave the first apartment he’s hiding in, his hair is parted and hanging down either side of his face. In the next shot, when he sits down to try to smoke the cigarette, his hair is combed back with no part visible.
• Continuity: When Szpilman is forced to leave his first hiding place after breaking the dishes, he has significant stubble on his face. However, when he reached Dorota’s apartment in the next scene, he’s clean shaven.

• Continuity: At the end, when King George is waiting for Nullah to come on walkabout, the position of the spear he is holding changes angles several times – from straight up to 45 degrees from his body to straight up again.
• Continuity: When The Drover (Hugh Jackman) rescues the children, he is holding the youngest one as they enter the water. When the camera cuts back, he’s holding a rifle. Then he is holding onto the raft with the others without a gun, and the action continues to switch between him holding and not holding the gun.
• Continuity: When it starts to rain and you see Hugh Jackman with his coat off and over his shoulder, there are brown mud spots all over his shirt sleeve and jacket. In the very next shot the spots are gone and he appears to be wearing a clean shirt.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: During the screening of _Wizard of Oz, The (1939)_, the first time it is seen in sepia. The two additional times they show the movie, it is in color. Famously however, the first 18 minutes of the film were shot in sepia (while Dorothy is in Kansas), with a transition to color once Dorothy arrives in Munchkinland.
• Crew or equipment visible: When Nullah “pulls up” at Faraway Downs and prepares to dismount from his horse, someone is holding the horse by a visible lead line (third rein).
• Crew or equipment visible: As Nullah gallops back to Faraway Downs after mounting the horse in the waterhole, there is a dust trail visible in front of his horse. Evidently someone is galloping ahead of him to ensure that his mount will follow, since Nullah is obviously too small to control an animal safely at speed.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Right at the end of the movie, when Nullah is about to go walkabout, in one scene he commits the cardinal sin of looking directly into the camera. Although it could be argued he’s looking at Drover, but Drover’s too far away beside a tree, and the angle of view is wrong.
• Factual errors: Earlier reported that Drover sees the burnt shoes of the children on mission island and that all boys were accounted for. In fact, it is never mentioned that all the boys survived the initial attack and the burnt shoes may have been those of children killed in the attack.
• Continuity: Nullah’s pinto pony, which has distinctive markings, changes to another pinto (possibly several) throughout scenes and from scene to scene, probably to accommodate a stunt rider.
• Plot holes: When the Japanese patrol arrives at the beach, they cannot see the 30 foot sailboat close enough to shore that little children could walk or easily swim out to it.
• Plot holes: The policeman, Callahan, and his men arrive at Faraway Downs looking to take Nullah and don’t find him. However, while they are driving up to the ranch, Nullah and his mother can be clearly seen climbing the water tower ladder as the truck is facing in that direction. As they are leaving, two of the policemen are seen sitting in the bed of the truck as it pulls away. People on the station are running toward the water tower in obvious distress, Jackman climbing the ladder to retrieve Nullah and his mother, in full view of the policemen in the truck bed as it is no further than 50 yards away, yet, the truck makes no response to the obvious activity in full view of them.
• Continuity: Drover begins lassoing a horse in a circular corral holding the lasso in the rope with his right hand. In obvious continuous motion, we see it in his left hand after a cut, then back to his right hand after the next cut.
• Continuity: In the scene in which Sarah first meets Nullah, she is speaking to him with her left hand near her chest. In obvious consecutive action, it suddenly appears at her side after a cut, then, after the next cut, suddenly back near her chest.
• Anachronisms: Lady Sarah Ashley’s mount – the last before she leaves England – has what appears to be a freeze brand on his shoulder. Freeze branding was invented in the 1960s and used as ID for valuable horses in the 1980s.
• Continuity: During their trip to Darwin the group is resting at night, when suddenly Fletcher’s guys pour out the gasoline and light it up. When the fire is lit it is pitch black and the stars can be seen. Then the stampede starts and suddenly it is in the middle of the day.
• Anachronisms: During the film Lady Ashley and Nullah view a newspaper in Australia advertising the “The Wizard of Oz”. Later in the film a sign in Darwin indicates that the year is 1939. It is highly unlikely that the newspaper or the showing of the “The Wizard of Oz” occurred in 1939 because the it was actually released in Australia during April 1940.
• Factual errors: When the Drover gets into the pickup truck to leave Faraway Downs, he gets into the left-hand seat and drives away with the steering wheel on the left-hand side. Australian vehicles are typically equipped with steering wheel and driving controls on the right-hand side because Australian traffic drives on the left-hand side of the road.
• Factual errors: Japanese bombing of Darwin includes a shot of a naval warship exploding. The ship exploding is an older US battleship with the distinctive tripod masts. The USS Peary which was destroyed during the first raid of the bombing of Darwin was a Clemson-class destroyer.
• Continuity: When Lady Ashley, Drover, and the children are reunited on the wharf, a military ambulance seen behind them is also shown in other battle scenes at different locations in the same time setting. The hood ID numbers are the same.
• Continuity: When Lady Ashley tells Drover to either stay at Faraway Downs or never return, Drover slams the white gate shut behind him as he storms out. In the next scene the gate is wide open again.
• Factual errors: Maitland is shown being murdered in the Faraway Downs “billabong”. A billabong is a small lake of stagnant water when cutoff from the river. The scene and subsequent map show it just to be a pool attached to the river.
• Anachronisms: Late in the movie the barman can be seen with crates of Victoria Bitter. This beer or “VB” as it is known is the local beer in the southern state of Victoria was not available in other areas of Australia until the 1970s.
• Revealing mistakes: In an early scene, the Drover’s truck is running beside some bounding kangaroos. The leg action of the kangaroos does not match the speed they are moving at – the swing backwards is stopping too soon.
• Factual errors: The Japanese planes are shown dropping torpedoes on land based targets. While maybe appropriate for the ships in the harbor, no pilot would use a torpedo for a land-based target.
• Anachronisms: In the first “tent” scene between Grover, Sarah and the Aboriginal stockmen, Grover speaks to Sarah whilst cleaning his teeth. A close inspection of his toothbrush reveals that it is not 1939-vintage. It has dark bristles in the centre and white bristles around the outside. Also the toothbrush has an oral-dynamic shape, with a pointed end. In 1939 toothbrushes were not this sophisticated. They were rectangle-shaped with white bristles.
• Continuity: In the ball scene, Sarah suddenly appears in a close-up with her make-up redone. Her lipstick was the most obvious change.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Sometimes during the attack scenes, the aircraft wheels are retracted; other times the wheels are extended while dropping bombs or firing at ground targets. This is not a goof, since the planes with extended landing gears are expected to be Aichi D3A “Val” bombers. This kind of plane had fixed landing gears. Other Japanese planes were Mitsubishi “Zeke” (or “Zero”) fighters. The “Zekes” were embarked aircraft with retractable landing gears.
• Anachronisms: At the charity ball the song ‘Aquarela do Brasil’, composed by Ary Barroso in 1939, is heard. The song was first recorded later that year in Brasil by Aracy Cortes. It became an international hit after it was sung by Carmen Miranda in the movie “The Gang’s all here” in 1943. It’s most improbable the song could have been orchestrated, arranged and performed by a band the same year it was composed in a far away spot such as Australia.
• Continuity: In the scene where Sarah and Nullah first meet in the house, Nullah’s shell necklace disappears and reappears from shot to shot.
• Continuity: In the scene when Sarah asks Flynn to tell her all about Faraway Downs and Fletcher, Flynn pulls out of his stock a full bottle of rum. In the close-up shot when he is opening it, it’s another kind of bottle, not entirely filled with rum. In the next scene, he is again holding the (opened) former bottle.

• Plot holes: SPOILER: Kate writes to Alex in one letter that because a man died on Valentine’s Day, his death is what brought her back to the lake house, and therefore, when she found Alex’s first letter. However, when Kate realizes in 2008 that Alex was that same man who died on Valentine’s Day, she warns him not to find her in order to save his life, and for him to find her at the lake house in another 2 years. Alex doesn’t die, and he does meet Kate. However, even though Alex never died, this wouldn’t have changed the fact that they began corresponding with one another because the initial reason why Kate wrote to Alex is because she wanted him to forward her the mail she was still receiving at the lake house.
• Anachronisms: During a scene set in 2004, the Paul McCartney song “This Never Happened to Me Before” is featured prominently. This song is on the album “Chaos and Creation in the Backyard,” which was released on September 13, 2005.
• Revealing mistakes: The tree which Alex plants grows something like 20 feet taller in two years.
• Revealing mistakes: When Kate is sitting at the table waiting for Alex, the candles are full candles. Even though she is supposedly waiting all night for him, in subsequent shots, the candles have not burned down.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: Mona’s words at the job site, as she’s talking to Alex in the beginning, don’t match her mouth.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Alex realizes it’s Valentine’s Day, he asks his brother “Valentine’s Day, 2006?” but his mouth clearly says 2004.
• Revealing mistakes: In one scene there is snow on the ground where the house is located, but if you look across the lake there is no snow on the opposite bank.
• Revealing mistakes: When Alex brings his father coffee in the hospital, there is clearly no coffee in the paper cup.
• Continuity: When Kate arrives at the bar she asks for a glass of wine. Immediately after her fellow resident doctor arrives and though we have not seen Kate drinking that much, in the next shot the glass is nearly empty.
• Factual errors: Kate and Alex are supposed to be living exactly two years apart throughout the film which is not possible because 2004 was a leap year, 2006 wasn’t. Once it got to February 28th for both, the next day would be February 29th for Alex but March 1st for Kate.
• Plot holes: In 2006 Kate writes Alex about the dog and tells Alex that she has named the dog Jack. In 2004 when Alex reads this letter, he calls out “Jack!” and the dog responds by jumping up and barking, indicating that she knows her name. However, Kate hasn’t met the dog yet, so the dog shouldn’t have known the name Jack.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Kate is writing to Alex asking him to call her July 10, 2006 at 9:05 p.m., she mouths “July 10, 2004″, but we hear 2006.
• Continuity: When Alex first meets Morgan at his house in 2004, there are dead leaves all over the yard of Morgan’s house like it’s the fall, but all the trees around are bright green and it’s obviously spring- some of the trees are just starting to sprout leaves.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: While looking through the pictures she says “…in the year 2004″ but her mouth says 2002.
• Anachronisms: The taxicabs in the film have the same color license plates in 2004 and 2006, even though Illinois taxi license plates are reissued annually with different colors. The blue plates shown in the film are the 2005 series.
• Continuity: When we first see the lake house tree, the shape of the leaf is different from the leaf that is present in two years later. The first doesn’t appear to be the same type of Maple.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Alex catches up with his dog, Jack, at Morgan and Kate’s house, Alex tells Morgan that Jack is a she, not a he. A few moments later, Alex’s girlfriend, Mona, catches up with Alex and his dog. She says about the dog, “Oh, I see you found him.”
• Errors in geography: The address that Kate (Sandra Bullock) lives at in 2006 – 1620 North Racine Street – is a non-existent address. While there is a North Racine Street in Chicago, it does not run in the 1600N block of the city.
• Continuity: When Mona is showing Alex her boots in the truck, the first shot is from the truck bed into the truck. There is a visible rear view mirror. Subsequent shots are from the front of the truck and the inside of the truck, and there is no rear view mirror.
• Plot holes: Before Kate sends the red scarf to Alex, she discusses the snow storm coming and says to the dog ‘remember that day you were not happy’ but the dog was supposedly with Alex in his time already and couldn’t possibly have been with Kate during that snow storm.
• Anachronisms: In the scene in the diner where Kate first shows the letters to her mother, there is a poster on the wall behind her advertising tickets to an event. The date on the poster clearly reads “December 15-26, 2004″, but Kate is living in 2006. The conversation is also supposed to be taking place in the summer – a bit early to be selling tickets of only $15 for an event in December!
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Jack is finally caught, Alex clearly and loudly says “girl” when talking to the dog, but Morgan still refers to the dog as a male.
• Factual errors: Kate takes the Amtrak train out of the Riverside station to Madison, however the only trains that stop at the Riverside station are Metra trains to and from Chicago only, no Amtrak trains stop there.
• Continuity: When Alex shows his brother the lake house in 2004, he mentions that the house has no way to reach the water and that there should be a staircase so that you could go swimming. He adds the stairs himself later on. However, when Alex receives the book of his father’s memoirs, he looks at a photo of his father and himself, a child, at the lake house. There are clearly stairs leading down to the water underneath the house, but the stairs did not exist until Alex added them in 2004.
• Continuity: When Alex is at the hospital talking to the doctor about his dad, his sweatshirt is zipped when the scene was shot from the side, and unzipped in the scene that is shot from the front, and then zipped again from the side again.
• Revealing mistakes: When Alex meets Morgan he’s holding two cases of beer, one is clearly Samuel Adams and another case which is a black box with small white writing on it. After Alex ask if he needs helps, neither is carrying the Samuel Adams box, and Alex is carrying a Dogwood box which is black but has different pictures and writing than the other case Morgan was carrying.
• Continuity: In the scene where Kate is at the kitchen table, talking to her mother about her mother’s first love, there is a cutaway to Kate’s face, right hand under her chin. When it cuts back, she is holding a knife and fork with two hands.
• Plot holes: Kate and Morgan are in the apartment. Kate is annoyed and stomps over to the bedroom area and breaks loose a piece of the hardwood. Hidden there, in a white paper bag, is the book that Alex retrieved for her when Kate had left it at the train station in 2004. Yet we never see the scene on how Alex could have possibly been able to put the book away under the hardwood floor.
• Continuity: When Alex Wyler (Keanu Reeves) finds out that his dad is in the hospital he gets to the front desk to ask about his Dad’s room. • Anachronisms: Reeboks (first made in 1978) at a 1972 Republican convention.
• Continuity: When Ron returns home from the hospital the subtitle says “…1969″. The colors of the leaves and the dead leaves in the street indicate it is autumn. A few scenes later the subtitle reads “July 4, 1969″, and the implication is that time has moved forward.
• Anachronisms: In the welcome home parade in 1969 we see two Elvises with the American eagle jumpsuit. This was not made for Elvis until his Aloha From Hawaii show in 1973.
• Factual errors: During a scene identified as July 4, 1969, the Kovic family is watching “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In” (1967). Laugh-In aired on Monday evenings, and July 4, 1969 was a Friday.
• Anachronisms: When the recruiter visits Ronnie’s school, he incorrectly refers to Marine boot camp as “13 weeks of hell,” when Marine boot camp was only 8 weeks during the timeframe of the movie.
• Continuity: When Ron visits the family of the man he accidentally killed in Vietnam, the chair swing is broken. When he comes out of the house moments later, the swing is fixed.
• Anachronisms: When Ron is thinking about what to put away in his room before boot camp, he stuffs away a toy pistol. The model pistol is a Beretta 92f, not made until 1983.
• Anachronisms: The voice of Mel Allen is heard on the radio calling Mantle’s 491st home run which would have taken place in 1966. Allen was fired after the 1964 season
• Crew or equipment visible: When Ron and his friends walk out of Boyer’s Ice Cream shop, you can see crew and equipment in the reflection on the cars.
• Errors in geography: When Ron is taking the train to Upstate NY a Mass Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) commuter train is used.
• Crew or equipment visible: Reflections of camera and operator visible in the shiny black brim of Ron’s hat during the second parade.
• Anachronisms: The song “American Pie” is played twice in scenes that are indicated as being in 1969. American Pie was not released until 1971.
• Factual errors: In the movie, Ron is visiting a leader of the 1970 Syracuse University strike. As students listen to speakers (among them the late Abbie Hoffman) an army of Syracuse policemen, identifiable by their shoulder patches, mass on campus. Wearing full riot gear, they rap their shields with their nightsticks, and, unprovoked, attack the student assembly. One even cracks wheelchair-bound Ron over the head. New York State Sen. Nancy Larraine Hoffmann, a Democrat, was a Syracuse student in 1970 who participated in that strike. “It was totally unlike the characterization in the movie,” she says, describing the peaceful week-long strike. “There was no police presence even within sight. At no time was there any show of force, or any attempt to disperse students listening to speakers. It troubles me to see police officers maligned for Hollywood sensationalism.”
• Factual errors: In the movie, Ron is, by 1972, a full-fledged anti-war activist. Ron materializes on the floor of the Republican National Convention with a few other Vietnam Veterans Against the War. They make a scene, attract a few cameras, block the aisle, and rile the delegates, a mass of bloated Republican faces in straw boaters. One of them spits on Ron. Security guards move in, roughly pushing and pulling the veterans from the hall, physically preventing reporters from following. Outside, Ron is thrown from his wheelchair by an undercover cop and beaten. Actually, Robert Dornan persuaded security guards to let Kovic into the convention. Mr. Dornan says he made Mr. Kovic promise not to make a scene. That, however, did not stop the Vietnam veteran, who joined forces with two other disabled anti- war veterans. “It was not as big a disturbance as the movie showed, but it was a disturbance,” says Mr. Dornan. “They were screaming. The guards came down and politely pulled their chairs backward. [They] put them out peaceably.” A United Press International report of the incident describes the scene this way: “After about five minutes, security agents wheeled them in protesting out a side door. I went out and watched him and the other two congratulating one another, bragging about what they’d accomplished.”
• Factual errors: The movie major is a decidedly unsympathetic character who ends his discussion with young Kovic by threatening to “take his head” if any more is said about the matter. The real-life major, traced by U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Fred Peck, would not consent to an interview. Through Lt. Col. Peck, the major confirmed Ron Kovic voiced such concerns to him. The major investigated and concluded it was unlikely Mr. Kovic had killed the Marine. Subsequently, the major promoted Mr. Kovic, making him the leader of a new scout group.
• Anachronisms: A 1957 Chevrolet convertible (released in the fall of 1956) is used in the 1956 Fourth of July parade.
• Continuity: Ron’s family watches JFK’s inauguration in Washington, DC in January 1961. It is sub-freezing there. Outside the Kovic home in Long Island, NY at the same time, it appears to be early fall.
• Anachronisms: A Jackie Gleason Blvd. street sign can be seen at the 1972 Republican National Convention in Miami Beach. The street wasn’t named that until after Gleason’s death in the late ’80s.

• Anachronisms: When the house is full of money, the twenty dollar bills are clearly from a much later issue.

• Continuity: When George visits his parents after Barb dies, he drinks and smokes with his father. George takes a deep rolling hit from his cigarette, but never exhales.
• Anachronisms: When George goes to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, looking for a marijuana dealer, you can see a Ladatel prepaid telephone card sign in the entrance of a store in the background. The Ladatel prepaid card didn’t exist until the late 80’s, and the sign is from the late 90’s.
• Anachronisms: At Logan Airport, when George is returning from Cartegena in 1976, at least two passengers have wheeled luggage. Wheeled personal luggage was invented in 1989 by airline pilot Bob Plath, and introduced by Travelpro, which he founded.
• Miscellaneous: At Logan Airport, when George returns from Cartegena in 1976, a man in a brown coat with a reddish scarf picks up a bag, then walks through the immigration and customs station behind George without being checked through.
• Continuity: When George gets busted the last time, his lawyer brings him a pack of Camels. He opens it and sets them to his right. When the lawyer pushes the tape recorder towards him, the Camels are on his left side. When he gets ready to start the player, they’re back on his right side.
• Continuity: After George and Dulli steal the plane when they arrive in Mexico the plane is out of control as they try to land on the runway. They pass the waiting drug dealer still going at a decent speed, still bouncing up and down. In the next shot, as they’re getting out of the plane, George and Dulli are right next to the crowd waiting for them. It would be impossible for the plane to have landed that close to the group after that landing.
• Revealing mistakes: In the scene after George meets Pablo Escobar and his associate is executed, Escobar’s henchmen are dragging the “dead” body. However, you can still see the “dead” man isn’t actually dead, the man’s legs are bent and his feet flat on the ground.
• Continuity: When George toasts with his father, there is smoke coming from his cigarette. In the next shot, he lights it.

• Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Banek leaves the garage after Doyle has removed the lug nuts, the first thing he does is make a right-angle turn, which should cause the wheel to fall off before he even gets on the highway.
• Continuity: Gavin can be seen getting up from the driver seat before Gipson pulls him out.
• Factual errors: On Good Friday in New York City, banks close at 3PM. One of the characters says he has to be at the bank by 5PM.
• Factual errors: On Good Friday in New York City all public schools are closed. None of the plot dealing with the two school children is possible on this date.
• Continuity: Banek’s shirt is wet right before his meeting with his wife and completely dry when they are sitting at the table.
• Continuity: In the last few minutes as Banek goes from office to restaurant to Mrs Gipson’s home, the injury on his right cheek changes shape.
• Continuity: Ben Affleck is driving a Mercedes when he has the car accident due to his wheel falling off, but the final shot of him at the scene shows a car which is not the one he was driving.
• Factual errors: In the courtroom, the nameplate for the judge says “Judge” Arbarbanel. However, in New York State, the person who presides over an estate matter or probate proceedings is formally known as “Surrogate” not “Judge”. The nameplate would reflect this and refer to the Surrogate as “Hon. Surrogate Arbaranel”. The court would also be referred to by all present as “the Surrogate’s court”, not the “probate court”.
• Factual errors: During the late afternoon or early evening in the office, we hear a radio news summary that describes the “stock market” performance that day and mentions “Wall Street”, “NASDAQ” and “the Dow”. However, the movie is set on Good Friday when stock exchanges in the US (and many other countries) are closed.
• Continuity: There are several inconsistencies between shots in the condition and position of Doyle’s car after the crash, including the passenger side mirror, which is broken off in the wreck and then reappears and disappears after the car hits the yellow crash barrels.

• Continuity: When Schindler goes to kiss the Jewish girl, he puts his hands on her shoulders. In the next shot, he pulls his hands away from her cheeks.
• Continuity: When the boy is caught by the Nazi troops, he drops his case next to his feet. When we cut back to him, the bag is a meter away.
• Continuity: When Schindler is reprimanded for kissing the Jewish girl by the SS officer, the SS officer picks up his cup twice in the same sentence.
• Revealing mistakes: At the train station, when Schindler saves Itzhak Stern from being sent away, an officer is seen flipping through pages of names, but all the pages are exactly the same.
• Continuity: The position of Amon Goeth’s arms as he is talking to Helen in the basement before he beats her.
• Continuity: when Schindler is in bed with his wife and talking, his head is resting on her. But in the next shot, when she leans up/turns over to talk to him he is a lot further away from her.
• Anachronisms: Yerushalayim shel Zahav was not written until twenty years after WWII
• Continuity: When the kid is painting the letters “DIREKTOR” for the first time, a serif font is used. In a subsequent shot the word is shown in a san-serif, bolder, almost stencil-like font. The size of the word is also much larger than before.
• Anachronisms: The bottle of Hennessy cognac as seen in the movie is the new shape released in 1990s. The original bottle shape was taller and had different label.
• Revealing mistakes: Just after the little boy is held up to pull down another icicle from the roof of the train, the camera angle switches to the exterior and pulls back to show the train going by with no trace of snow or ice anywhere else on the train except right over that one doorway.
• Crew or equipment visible: When Schindler and Stern negotiate with the Jewish investors outside the ghetto, Steven Spielberg is reflected on the rear window (his jacket is blowing in the wind)
• Continuity: In the opening sequence when Schindler is preparing for the party (dressing up, getting money) the shape of his hands (and nails) differs from shot to shot.
• Continuity: When the train of women is pulling into Aushwitz, ramps are already in place next to the track. They then disappear, and are put in place when the train stops.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the scene were Amon is picking a servant, he moves to a Jewish girl that does not raise her hand and asks her to get in his car. When he tells her to speak up, his voice is heard but his lips are not moving.
• Crew or equipment visible: The scene inside the cellar between Oskar and the maid, when she faces the camera head on, there is no light coming from the right, yet as the scene progresses and the shot tightens, somebody turns on a light which becomes visible as they cut to her left and her head tilts forward.
• Continuity: When Oskar first meets Amon over lunch, there is an officer who pours water twice, from two different angles.
• Continuity: Oskar sits down at Amon’s table for lunch, getting ready to eat, with the camera looking from behind Amon. When they change angles you can see him already chewing the food.
• Continuity: The opening sequence in the train station, one can clearly see that there is no metal cover where the guy is setting up the table, yet as they begin to take names, it seems that the action is happening in a different place.
• Miscellaneous: When the doctor goes into his secret stash of fine liquors, there seems to be a ray of light inside. How is that possible since it must be inside a wall?
• Continuity: The sequence of Oskar interviewing for a secretary position opens with a wide shot showing furniture in the room that is covered while the walls are being painted. Once it cuts to a close shot, the furniture is gone.
• Anachronisms: The Billie Holiday song heard from a radio is not the wartime recording stated on the end credits. It’s a later version from the 1950s.
• Factual errors: When Oskar Schindler takes his meal he uses his fork with the right hand and his knife with the left. Not being left-handed this would be a very unusual thing for a German man to do.
• Anachronisms: When one train of the male Jews were taken to “Czechoslovakia” (wrong name for that history period) we can see some electric columns for electric rail tracks. That could be impossible because till the end of War there was no electric tracks in that area. Even all locomotives were steam-engine.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): After the little boy takes the saddle out of the car and after Schindler says thank you – he passes on some cigarettes to an SS personnel at the camp and Schindler calls him “Rottenfuhrer”, but the rank/insignia of the SS man responds to a different rank called Sturmmann which is one rank lower than the Rottenfuhrer rank.
• Crew or equipment visible: The first time Amon Goeth shoots a Jewish prisoner, the large dirt squib is clearly visible in the background before it detonates.
• Factual errors: The hanging of Amon Goeth looks absolutely nothing like the actual film footage of the execution. Place, clothing, procedures, number of people involved and the graphic events that took place are all wrong.
• Continuity: In the beginning of the film when the Jews are being registered at Krakow, there is a woman who calls herself Helena Zucker, later on in the film when the Schindler Jews are being taken to Brinnlitz the same woman identifies herself as Jetti Zuckerman.
• Continuity: When the men use a little boy to get ice from the roof of the train while they’re going to Schindler’s factory, the barbed wire on the window is in a zig-zag pattern, but the exterior shot reveals a line pattern.
• Anachronisms: “Der frohliche Wanderer” or “Mein Vater war ein Wandersmann,” known in English as “The Happy Wanderer” was written after WII. This is the song being lead by Schindler in the cabaret at the beginning of the movie.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the scene where they are separating the healthy from the sick, one of the men running naked is clearly not circumcised. However, many of the Jewish prisoners were not Torah observant but in fact had been assimilated into Gentile society, and thus may not have been, in fact, circumcised.
• Revealing mistakes: During the era depicted, almost all European women did not shave any of their armpits, legs, or pubic areas, especially work or death camp women who were not allowed even the basics. All but one of the women in the film are trimmed and groomed.
• Continuity: In the scene where Goeth attempts to shoot the Rabbi for producing too few hinges, he first draws his military issue Luger and it repeatedly misfires. He then pulls a semi-automatic pistol out of his pocket, and it too misfires. As he walks away disgusted he drops the automatic pistol on the ground, but amazingly it has morphed into a revolver when it hits the ground and is picked up by his subordinate officers.
• Anachronisms: When the Nazis are separating healthy and sick prisoners, they play two shellac records. The second disc is labeled “Fogg Records”, but Mieczyslaw Fogg founded his record company after the war; moreover Fogg recorded mostly (if not only) Polish performers at his studio, and that song doesn’t resemble a Polish song.
• Revealing mistakes: When Goeth attempts to shoot the Rabbi for producing too few hinges, his semi-automatic pistol fails to fire. In order to re-cock the pistol, he racks the slide (pulls back the slide) several times. When the gun still fails to fire, he tries the same thing with a second semi-automatic pistol. Each time the slide is pulled back, we should see an unfired round being ejected from the gun, but this does not happen.
• Factual errors: In the film, Auschwitz seems to be liberated by the Soviet Army after the Nazi government has surrendered. In fact, Auschwitz was liberated on 27th January 1945 but the Nazi government did not surrender until 29th April 1945.
• Continuity: Placement of Stern’s arm around one-armed worker at Schindler Warehouse.
• Factual errors: Schindler was never awarded the Golden Nazi Party Badge, and thus couldn’t have sold it to save more Jews. In any event, all but a few of the badges were made of gold-plated brass.
• Factual errors: The Golden Party Badge (Goldenes Parteiabzeichen) that Schindler is holding is the ‘large’ military version and not the civilian type that he would have had, if he had been awarded one.

“Mr. Brooks” Goofs List

• Continuity: Before Detective Atwood ever sees any action, her knuckles are scraped and bruised from fighting.
• Crew or equipment visible: When Mr. Brooks is talking to Jane in his office, you can see the camera man’s arm in the window reflection behind Mr. Brooks’ desk.
• Continuity: After the Man of the Year ceremony, Mrs. Brooks takes the ring on her right ring finger off and puts it into her jewelery box, when the camera changes angles, she is seen taking the same ring off again.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The movie is supposed to be set in Oregon, however the license plates on the cars let you know that it can’t possibly be Oregon. Oregon license plates have three letters and then three numbers or vice versa. Not two letters and then a number with two numbers and a letter for the second half of the plate. This, however, is a common device in filmmaking, as film producers do not wish to actual registrations. Films shot in New York and Washington almost always feature cars whose license plates fail to conform to registration patterns.
• Revealing mistakes: When Detective Tracey Atwood’s head is stitched it is a visibly huge and nasty head wound which would normally need some bandaging in addition to the stitches. However, in subsequent scenes there are no bandages visible nor is her hair shaved.
• Continuity: As Earl is getting out of a taxi, he walks with a cane held with his right hand for a short distance. When he reaches his car, he hooks the cane over his left arm. In the next shot, he’s holding the cane in his left hand by its shaft.
• Continuity: When Mr. Brooks kills the first couple, the lamp inside the room is turned on. However, after he kills the couple, the room is dark and the lamp is off. The lamp later appears turned on in the photograph. The reflection of the lamp which appears turned off can also be seen right after the couple gets killed.
• Continuity: When Earl drives the jeep to Jane’s school, you can see the Axe in the car and near it you can see the gear handle is set on PARKING. As the camera goes up, you can clearly see the car is moving and Earl is driving it.
• Continuity: During the car chase after the abduction of Atwood, the white van contacts a number of other vehicles causing significant damage to the van. At the end of this sequence the van is seen escaping but without any obvious sign of damage to the van.
• Continuity: When Det. Atwood is taken into the van, the van turns into an alley with the sliding door open. Turning into the next street from the alley, the door is closed. The next shot with the van driving along the street shows the door open again.
• Errors in geography: CVS pharmacy signs are visible at various times throughout the movie (most commonly during car rides), like when Mr. Brooks picks up Mr. Smith for the last time. CVS Pharmacies are not present in Portland, where the story is said to take place but are prevalent in L.A. where filming for many movies occurs. They are also common in Louisiana, where much of this film was shot.
• Errors in geography: While driving after the awards banquet, a Chase bank sign is clearly seen out the window. Chase has no locations in Portland; they do however, have locations in Louisiana, where the movie was mostly filmed. Same with Morgan Keegan when Marshal and Earl are coming over the bridge, on the way to the dance students’ home.
• Errors in geography: There is a scene where signs for US highways 79 and 80 are prominently shown. Neither highway is anywhere near Portland, Oregon. (Coincidentally, Portland did at one time contain a segment of Interstate 80N, but it is doubtful that the filmmakers planned this to cover the goof; Interstate 80N was in no way related to US highway 80, and it was re-designated as Interstate 84 many years ago). Both US Route 79 and 80 both run through Louisiana, where most of this movie was filmed.
• Continuity: When Mr Brooks is driving Mr Smith around for the first time, it is raining heavily, yet when they drive past a new car dealership, none of the cars are wet and the coin op car wash across the street is full of people washing their cars.
• Continuity: On the way to the cemetery when Mr. Smith pulls his gun on Mr. Brooks the hammer is pulled back. During their conversation Mr. Smith pulls the already cocked hammer back again.
• Factual errors: When Mr. Brooks is reading the paper, the first page contains the story of Meeks’s murder-suicide. In the upper section, there is a note about DNA showing Mr. Smith to be the Thumbprint Killer. DNA would take a week to process at very minimum (more likely six to eight weeks), at which point Meeks’ story would no longer be breaking news as it is portrayed.
• Revealing mistakes: Mr. Brooks’ glasses are made of glass and aren’t prescription lenses. You can see this in two scenes in particular: the scene in the beginning where Mr. Brooks and his wife go out for ice cream and the scene where Mr. Brooks is burning the pictures. Also, it is unlikely that this could have been intended by the filmmakers because Mr. Brooks’ daughter puts them at least once when she is in his office.
• Continuity: In the scene where the murder victim swings out of the ceiling and hits Demi Moore in the face, blood is streaming out of her broken nose. In subsequent shots, the blood has completely disappeared and she is not bleeding at all.
• Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Detective Tracy Atwood is abducted, the van she is in is seen at times with the side door open and then closed as she struggles to free herself.
• Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Meeks shoots himself in the head, a spray of blood appears on the wall behind him. In the next shot the blood is gone.
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): SPOILER: When Mr. Brooks and Mr. Smith first go into the cemetery, Mr. Brooks hands Mr. Smith the keys so he can get back out. However, after Mr. Brooks kills Mr. Smith, he does not retrieve the keys before rolling Mr. Smith into the grave.

“Rocky III” Goofs List

• Continuity: During the final bout, immediately before Rocky knocks out Lang, the position of the two fighters alternates from the middle of the ring (in long shots) to up against the ropes (in close-ups) and back again.
• Crew or equipment visible: During the final fight scene a handheld movie camera (used for shooting ground-level shots) is visible on the far side of the ring. Full-size cameras are also visible in some shots.
• Continuity: In the second fight with Clubber Lang, between the first and second rounds, the shot is flopped – the word “Clubber” is backwards on his shorts and one of his crew’s robes clearly has “World Champion” backwards as well.
• Continuity: Before the final fight, the crowd scenes contain the picture boards of Rocky and Apollo in the background, making it obvious that it is the same crowd footage from Rocky II (1979).
• Continuity: There are multiple errors with the time-line and chronology of this film and it’s relationship with the previous two movies. Most obviously, Rocky (1976) is set primarily in 1975, with the title fight taking place on January 1, 1976. Rocky II (1979) is also set in 1976, with the title fight taking place on Thanksgiving, November 25. The events in Rocky III are said to take place three years later, placing it in 1979/1980. However, the newspaper advertising the charity match between Rocky and Thunderlips gives a date of 1982. Another major discrepancy is in relation to Micky’s age and date of death. In the first film, Micky says he is 76, placing his birth in either 1899 or 1900. In Rocky III however, his headstone lists his date of birth as 1905, making him 71 in the original film. Furthermore, the headstone lists his date of death as 1981, which implies that he was 76; the same age he was four years previously (in the original film).
• Continuity: At the beginning of the final fight between Rocky and Clubber, we see Rocky take his robe off in a close-up shot and he has a towel around his neck. We then see a distant shot and the towel is gone. Then we come to a slightly closer shot and the towel is back again.
• Continuity: When Apollo and Duke are reviewing Rocky’s first fight with Clubber and discussing how many rounds Rocky could potentially last, the footage they are watching is in black and white. However, during this scene there is a shot of Apollo looking at the screen, and the lights reflecting off his face show that the footage he is watching is in color.
• Boom mic visible: In the beginning of the film, there’s an overhead shot (of Rocky and “Thunderlips” facing one another) where the shadow of the boom mic is visible on the back of Thunderlips’s head.
• Factual errors: When Rocky is in training for the re-match with Clubber and is having flashbacks to the first fight, they cut to a scene in black and white where Rocky is taking an uppercut to the body. It is clearly visible that Rocky is wearing the “Stars and Stripes” trunks that Apollo gives to him right before the re-match. Rocky could not have been wearing these trunks because they hadn’t even been given to him yet.
• Factual errors: During the first fight with Clubber while Mickey is lying on the table in the locker room, the doctor is overheard to say “his blood pressure is 200 over 50 we’d better start CPR.” In actuality, the heart must be beating for there to be a blood pressure and CPR is only initiated when the heart and or respirations cease.
• Factual errors: At Micky’s funeral, there are only 4 people present (Rocky, Adrien, Paulie and Al the Cutman. In order for a Jewish service/prayer to take place, there must be a minimum of 10 men (Minyan). If there is not a Minyan then the prayers have no validity and therefore strangers are often invited to the prayers ensuring there are 10 or more men.
• Continuity: When Adrian and Rocky talk on the beach, in the first, zoomed-out shot of them together, there are numerous ships in the water along with some minor debris. In the close-up shots that follow, there are no ships, just the minor debris.
• Continuity: When talking to Adrian on the beach, Rocky appears to have not shaved in a few days. About halfway through the scene, he suddenly appears shaved.
• Factual errors: The newspaper shown just after the “Rocky vs. Thunderlips” match shows a date of “Wednesday, May 15, 1982″. May 15 fell on a Saturday in 1982.
• Continuity: The newspaper shown just after the “Rocky vs. Thunderlips” match shows a date of “Wednesday, May 15, 1982″. When Mickey dies later in the film, his tombstone says he died “August 15, 1981″, which was 9 months earlier.
• Continuity: Mickey’s tombstone shows the year he was born as “1905″, which is inconsistent with material from Rocky (1976). The first movie takes place between November 25th 1975 and January 1st 1976. Mickey in the first movie tells Rocky he is 76 years old, which would make the year he was born be either 1899 (if Mickey’s birthday was between January and November) or 1898 (if his birthday was in December).
• Crew or equipment visible: After the final fight where Rocky and Apollo are alone in the gym. You can see a crew member walk by in the bottom left corner while Rocky and Apollo both get into the ring.
• Revealing mistakes: During the last fight scene, Rocky is punching away at Clubber, and the two seemingly glide across from one end of the ring to the other. If you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of the rolling platform that they are standing on.
• Continuity: In Rocky’s first title defense, he begins the fight with golden gloves, but at the end of the fight, his gloves are black.
• Miscellaneous: As the scene depicting the dedication of the Rocky statue opens, the camera is focused on the snare drum of one of the high school band members. If one looks closely, it is clear that Mr. T autographed the top of the drum for the band member at some point before filming the scene.
• Continuity: When Mickey gets sick and lays down on the table in the locker room, he has his knit cap on as he starts to lay down. The shot switches to a different angle as he continues to lay down, and now his cap is off and laying on the table next to him.
