“The Hunchback of Notre Dame” Goofs List

• Continuity: The gargoyles used for drainage are supposed to be hollow, but when Frollo breaks them they are solid.
• Continuity: The grapes on Quasimodo’s plate change from scene to scene.
• Continuity: The lead that Quasimodo pours soon disappears.
• Continuity: Quasimodo swings down from the top of the bell tower to the ground on a rope that was previously only about 15 feet long.
• Continuity: When Esmeralda sings “God Help the Outcasts” while passing people in Notre Dame, the gold coins from her sash are missing.
• Continuity: When Phoebus is shot the arrow strikes him in the back. Later the wound is seen to be in the front, with no wound visible in the back.
• Continuity: The bugs crawling on the block that Frollo holds while talking to Phoebus about the Court of Miracles.
• Factual errors: The Festival of Fools takes place at Twelfth Night, on January 6 – the song “Topsy Turvy” mentions “the sixth of ‘Januervy”‘. But in a later scene, Frollo brings Quasimodo fresh grapes. Grapes are not ripe in January in France.
• Continuity: During the “Out There” number, when Quasimodo sings “If I was in their skin”, he is standing over a wall completely in shadow. When he slides down the flying buttress in the very next shot, the wall is brightly lit.
• Continuity: Before Quasimodo turns to talk to the baby pigeon, the nest is empty. In the very next shot, the pigeon is clearly visible in the nest, even before it wakes up.
• Continuity: When Esmeralda and Quasimodo are about to jump off the top of Notre Dame, Esmeralda ties a kerchief around Djali’s eyes and it wraps around the top of his head. In the next shot, however, the kerchief is wrapped vertically, from top to bottom, and it looks much larger.
• Continuity: When Frollo gets angry with Quasimodo for helping Esmeralda escape Notre Dame he slams the sculpture of her down on the table close to and on the left side of a candle. In the next shot the sculpture is on the right side and is farther away from the candle.
• Continuity: When Quasimodo is desperate to hide Phoebus beneath his table he knocks over the small sculpture of Frollo. In the next shot it is Esmeralda’s sculpture that has been knocked over.
• Anachronisms: When Quasimodo is seen singing “Out There” on the cathedral’s roof we can see a set of copper green statues – the 12 apostles – around the central needle. These statues were not added until the XIX century during a general restoration directed by Viollet-le-Duc, a French architect who had read Victor Hugo’s novel and was concerned about the possibility of Notre Dame being demolished, as some authorities of the time had considered. Consequently, it would have been impossible to see those statues at the time the movie is set.
• Anachronisms: In the movie, Notre Dame is seen with a wide square in front of it. However, during the time the movie is set (XV-XVI century) this square did not exist. It was occupied by the Hotel Dieu, a medieval hospital which was not demolished until the XIX century.
• Miscellaneous: At the time of the movie, the use of digital technology to create large crowds of people was fairly new. Thus in many places if you watch the crowds instead of the main characters, you can clearly see how the crowd members all have simple, almost undefined faces and move in very computerized ways. This is especially easy to see at the end of the movie when the little girl pulls Quasimodo into the crowd – watch the crowd that parts for them. Other good examples are just after that when the crowd carries Quasimodo across the square (watch individual crowd members), at the Festival of Fools, and in the shot during the final battle where the gypsies and villagers, moving en mass towards the cathedral, are seen from above.
• Continuity: When Frollo picks up a piece of the rail, to make his point about the gypsies, the curved edges of the rail are facing towards him, but in the next shot, when he slams it down, the rail fragment is facing the other way.
• Continuity: During the song “Bells of Notre Dame,” the Archdeacon’s eyebrows change from gray to black.
• Continuity: While Frollo is singing “Hellfire”, he pulls out Esmeralda’s sash. At various points throughout the song, the sash disappears and reappears in his hands.
• Continuity: The helmet Esmeralda tosses (that Phoebus ducks at) stops directly over his shoulder past his head, rather than continuing past him to fall to the ground.
• Continuity: In the scene where Phoebus is arriving in Paris and looking for the Palace of Justice, Achilles sits on one of the soldiers and Phoebus cuts off half of his mustache with his sword. However, in the scene where Quasimodo is being tormented at the festival, the focus goes back to the same soldier. In some scenes he has his entire mustache, in other scenes only half.
• Anachronisms: All the exterior sculptures on the Cathedral are shown as plain, natural-colored stone. At the time the story is set, they were polychromatic – painted in colors.
• Continuity: Frollo does not age at all over the course of the film, even though twenty years have passed from his opening scene.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: Just as Frollo starts scolding Quasimodo for helping Esmeralda escape Notre Dame, he knocks Quasi to the floor. In the next shot, Quasi is seen mouthing something like, “But I…”, but no sound is heard.

• Continuity: Mr. Tweedy’s shotgun disappears on the porch in the opening sequence.
• Continuity: Mr. Tweedy’s position after being knocked out.
• Continuity: Rocky abseils on a telephone wire through a round window into the shed with the pie machine. The bracket holding the wire is clearly attached exactly above the window. Later, when Mrs. Tweedy involuntarily skydives from the plane, she enters the shed through the same round window (the bracket is clearly visible above it) but she does not hit the wire on her way down.
• Continuity: The chicken catapult changes during Mac’s demonstration. The teeth on the cog and ratchet point in different directions within the same scene.
• Continuity: The “Egg Production Table” in Mrs. Tweedy’s hand changes twice.
• Continuity: Babs’ knitting bag disappears completely after she hides it behind her back.
• Anachronisms: During the film, the main character is cycling through the English countryside listening to his little radio. On the radio is The Wanderer by Dion. The film is set in 1959, but The Wanderer was a UK hit in 1962.
• Continuity: The tire mark on Mrs. Tweedys forehead disappears/reappears between shots.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the last few minutes of the movie, when Rocky comes back to the farm on his tricycle, he is heard yelling “Ginger,” but if you took a good look at his beak when you hear him say it, you will find that the beak is not opened. It’s closed.
• Continuity: After Mrs Tweedy falls off the plane, the shot of Fowler saying “The old bird bought it” is flipped (the “17″ is the wrong way round and is also on the wrong side of the hut door).
• Continuity: In the overhead shot of the huts when Rocky starts teaching the chickens how to fly, hut 24 is behind hut 23. Later, when Nick and Fetcher are watching them jumping on the hot water bottle, huts 23 and 24 are next to each other.

• Continuity: In the scene where Coraline falls asleep on the picture frame, at first it is facing down, but when the shot changes it has flipped to facing up.
• Continuity: When Other Father starts playing the piano, the piano gloves go on his hands while he is facing Coraline. After he turns around, the gloves switch hands.
• Continuity: In the scene when Coraline firsts sees her father, she places the Coraline doll down on a box. In the shot, the Coraline doll’s arm is hanging over the edge, but in the next shot, the doll’s arm is by its side.
• Factual errors: Mr. Bobinsky is Russian, but the flag in front of his door is Montenegrin, with one minor difference: The original has a lion passant in the centre, while Mr. Bobinsky’s has a horseman.
• Continuity: While Coraline is eating dinner with her “other parents” she has an empty glass and a full water glass. When Coraline is shown again the water glass is half empty and again when Coraline is shown there is no water glass present at all.
• Continuity: When Coraline first looks at the picture frame next to her bed, the “3″ from “at 7:30″ is missing and “Coraline” is spelled “Coral1n3″ on the depicted sign. In the next shot, when she holds the frame in her hands, it says “7:30″ and “Coral1ne”.
• Continuity: Watch very closely during the opening as the Beldam unstuffs the doll, and restuffs it. When you see the doll inside out in full, look down at her feet, with the heel stitches on the same side of the body as the face.

• Miscellaneous: When the Adelies and Lovelace are involved in the killer whale attack on the frozen buoy, Mumble surfaces. When he starts speeding up, there’s no wake seen behind him..
• Factual errors: When Mumble is in the aquarium, there is a long zoom out until the earth is visible as a small disk in space. Stars in the background twinkle. However, stars should not twinkle when seen from space. They only twinkle when seen from earth because of variations of the atmosphere.
• Revealing mistakes: When Mumble and the Amigoes are outrunning the avalanche, Mumble hangs in mid-air for a few seconds, and Ramone grabs onto Mumble from behind before they fall. Looking closely, you can clearly see that Ramone’s flipper passes through Mumble’s feathers right before they nose-dive down the slope.
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the scene where Mumble is born, Memphis says “woah” a little bit before Mumble’s foot actually comes out of the egg.
• Revealing mistakes: During the scene where we see Memphis and Norma Jean finding each other in the crowd (when the females are returning), one penguin in the center of the screen walks through another penguin.
• Continuity: While Baby Mumble is with the Skuas, a small black bow can be seen on Mumble’s chest. However, when Mumble falls into the crack in the ice, the bow disappears. When the birds fly away, Mumble rolls to the side and begins to cry, with his bow visible again.
• Continuity: Toward the end of the movie, the penguins start to dance while one human video tapes them. Later, the video of the penguins dancing is played in Times Square and on TVs all over, but the human didn’t even have his camera out yet during the beginning part of the dance that is televised.

• Continuity: When Soto describes his plan for bringing down the mammoth, Zeke and Oscar swap positions between shots.
• Continuity: During the fight with the dodos, Diego disappears when Manfred is keeping the melon away from the dodos. When the melon goes flying, Diego is back beside Manfred.
• Continuity: In the first shot of the human camp, the camp is on the left side of the river that leads to the waterfall. During the tiger attack, the camp switches places to the right (note where the baby’s mom jumps).
• Continuity: SPOILER: At the end of the movie, Runar places his wife’s necklace on Manfred’s trunk. A few moments later, the necklace has disappeared.
• Factual errors: SPOILER: At the end of the movie, Scrat is seen frozen in ice. The ice is floating on the ocean with 90% above the water. The ice should be lower in the water with only a small fraction above the water line. Only a huge wave would then be able to wash Scrat onto the beach.
• Continuity: Sid’s position beside the fire changes when his tail catches fire.
• Continuity: Sid steps in poop with the first step he takes, but in the previous shot, there is nothing within two steps of him.
• Continuity: In the first camp-out scene with Diego, Diego is sleeping close to the rock wall when Sid returns. There is an overhead shot, and he is only a few feet away from Manny and Sid. Later, in another shot, just before he gets up, he is back by the wall.
• Continuity: When Roshan is crying and they’re trying to figure out why before the melon scene, Sid picks him up after the notion of BM is mentioned. When he says ‘Why am I the poop checker?’ he spreads his arms, and is no longer holding the baby. The camera wasn’t on Manny long enough for Sid to put Roshan down.
• Anachronisms: Animals, from many different epochs and continents, mingle in 10,000 B.C. North America.
• Continuity: During the sliding scene, Manny slides through some spikes on a slab of ice right after Roshan, who, weirdly enough, got through it unharmed.
• Revealing mistakes: When the sabertooth pack is chasing Sid and he “skis” away, Sid is kicking up powder and leaving tracks in the snow, but during the early stages of the chase, his pursuers are running across the top of the snow leaving no tracks.
• Revealing mistakes: Just before Sid comments that his “feet are sweating” there is an overhead shot of all three main characters walking along the snow. Their feet are moving but their bodies are moving forward far faster than their steps would take them and they appear to be sliding forward on the snow.
• Revealing mistakes: The first animal to step on Scrat in the opening is a mammoth, yet no mammoth is visible in the long shot of the crowds of animals. In fact, no mammoth other than Manfred is seen throughout the sequence. With this, a large bird also steps on Scrat, but no birds are seen in the crowds. We also only see two legs of each animal stepping on Scrat even though three of them are quadrupeds.
• Factual errors: When Scrat’s coconut falls from the tree, it has already had its husk removed. (The directors confirm this on the DVD commentary. They may have been worried that a lot of their audience would not recognize a coconut with its husk on.)

• Factual errors: Esperanza (Spirit’s mother), gives birth to Spirit surrounded by her fellow mares. Wild mares disappear from the herd for a few days and give birth alone, then return to the herd. Esperanza would also have snapped at anyone, mare or stallion, who came close to Spirit for the next week.
• Continuity: When Spirit is about to exit the train car and looks at the camp, the same shot with the mounted officer crossing the path is shown twice.
• Errors in geography: After Spirit has fought the cougar and the herd runs over to meet him, there are trees in the background. There is then a close up of Spirit and Esperanza (his mum) and a shot of the foal. Yet when the camera zooms out to show the whole group, the trees are gone.
• Continuity: After Spirit has fought the cougar and the rest of the herd runs down to meet him, there are trees in the background. The shot then goes to a close-up of the foal and when the camera zooms out to show the whole group, the trees have disappeared.
• Factual errors: Young Spirit is shown lapping water with his tongue. Horses do not drink that way, instead they suck it up with their lips.
• Revealing mistakes: At one point while Spirit is watching Rain and Little Creek from inside the pen, you can see a bottom portion of his mouth pass through a log in the fence and linger there briefly, as if the log wasn’t there
• Continuity: When escaping from the soldiers’ compound, as Little Creek stops the Colonel from shooting Spirit, Spirit’s reins alternate being on his neck and over his head between shots.
• Revealing mistakes: When Spirit first enters the fort, there is a group of soldiers riding their horses in unison. Spirit neighs at them, and one brown horse stops moving and neighs back. The next line of horses behind the brown horse are still walking, but don’t move forward.
• Continuity: According to the progressing seasons throughout the movie, the two gray colts attacked by the cougar in the beginning of the movie do not age as they should have done. This is evident as Spirit and Rain return to the herd together, and are greeted by the same two gray colts who remain weanling’s as opposed to yearlings.
• Continuity: When the colonel is about to shoot Spirit, he cocks the hammer on his Remington revolver but when Little Creek runs into him, the hammer is uncocked.
• Factual errors: There are over fifteen horses in Spirit’s herd. In real life, there would be much fewer mares and foals because of overgrazing and bachelor stallions would steal mares. Also, larger herds make for larger targets.
• Factual errors: Spirit runs in front of the herd when they all run together. Spirit, the lead stallion, should be at the back making the stragglers keep up and to be protection when the herd is fleeing from predators.
• Factual errors: When the cougar is about to attack the two foals, they are far away from the watchful eyes of the mare. Foals that young would be kept close to the mother’s side and would be prevented from leaving the safety of the herd.
• Factual errors: Before the foals are about to be attacked by the cougar, Spirit is racing with an eagle. Stallions would never leave their precious herd unguarded for as long as Spirit did, as it would leave the herd vulnerable for cougar attacks (which almost happened) and bachelor stallions would seize the opportunity to snatch a mare for themselves.
• Factual errors: The Lakota camp had a pen for their horses. Lakota would not have had pens, their horses would’ve run in a heard that was attended to by the teens of the tribe.
• Continuity: When Little Creek arrives to put Spirit into the pen, the pen has nine parts. Later in another scene the pen has twelve or thirteen parts.

• Continuity: Stitch’s scratch marks on Lilo’s glass prison disappear and reappear.
• Continuity: When Cobra Bubbles puts Lilo in his car, you see the door lock button on the drivers side. When the shot goes back to Lilo a different kind of lock is revealed on the passengers side.
• Continuity: When Lilo goes to dance class we see the two drummers are playing the same kind of drum. When Lilo announces that Pudge controls the weather, one of the drummers has a different drum.
• Continuity: Jumba’s gun is destroyed when it explodes and demolishes the house, but after this you can still see a gun in the holster on his back.
• Continuity: When Cobra Bubbles is at Nani’s back door, the door swings to Nani’s right when she opens it. But later when Nani crawls on top of the dryer and she opens it, it opens the opposite way.
• Factual errors: Right before Stitch finds the Ugly Duckling book, he picks up three other books. The first two, “Oyster Farming: Is it for you?” and “Fire Eating for Fun and Profit” have their titles printed on the back of the books, and nothing printed on the fronts.
• Continuity: When David sets the stage on fire, the hole on the canopy has a bamboo beam showing through. On the very next shot the beam is gone.
• Continuity: At one point during “He Mele No Lilo”, the two older Hula dancers at the left switch places, after that they switch back to their original places.
• Continuity: When David pulls Stitch out of the water after he appears to have drowned, Stitch is facing out, but when you see him again he is facing in.
• Continuity: At the luau Nani’s skirt is short but when she gets fired it’s long.
• Continuity: When Lilo is talking to the Hula teacher about just wanting dance, we can see Myrtle in the background holding her arm. On her wrist is a grass bracelet. When we focus on Myrtle and she says “Eww, she bit me”; the grass bracelet is gone.
• Continuity: When Lilo is in the restaurant where Nani works, her crayon disappears and then reappears.
• Continuity: When Nani, Lilo, and Stitch come home after the luau, Nani reaches halfway up the wall, turns on the lights, and the sound of the switch flipping can be heard. The light switch can be seen a moment later as she carries Stitch out of the kitchen, but when she tries to carry him out of the house, it has disappeared.
• Continuity: During the first hula class, Myrtle clearly has light skin; but as Lilo runs to talk to the group of girls after class, she is as dark as Lilo. Later, when Stich steals Myrtle’s bike, she is light again.
• Continuity: In the scene after Cobra Bubble’s first visit, Nani brings Lilo some pizza in her room. Behind Lilo you can clearly see a neon green star and moon on the right bedpost. Later on, as the lights go out, the star and moon are clearly on the left bedpost. Later still, when Stitch wakes up Lilo with the Duckling book, the star/moon isn’t even on a bedpost, it’s on the headboard between the posts. After that, the star/moon disappear completely to reappear on the window frame for two scenes.
• Continuity: When Stitch is first escaping the prison ship, the female pilot states that “He’s loose on deck C!” and points at a moving red dot. However, the camera then shifts to Stitch, who is still locked in place.
• Continuity: When Lilo is running from the beach to dance class she is wearing a striped bathing suit, over which she puts on her grass skirt before entering the building. When she joins the other children onstage she is still wearing her grass skirt, but she is now wearing a tube top.
• Continuity: When Nani invite Cobra Bubbles into the house there is a pot simmering on the stove. She takes the lid off then turns around, after Lilo walks in they show the stove behind Nani and Cobra Bubbles and the pot has turned into a frying pan.
• Continuity: After the house blows up, Lilo’s picture of her family is shown with three burned corners in distant shots, but only two close up.

• Continuity: When Hogarth first meets Dean in the Diner, the newspaper ad is “Moon Explorer”. When Hogarth pulls the paper down the ad has changed to “First Lady”.
• Continuity: When Hogarth is trying to push the giant’s hand out the bathroom window, the thumb changes sides. An earlier scene shows that the giant was missing its left hand.
• Anachronisms: Dean is called a “Beatnik” during the film which is set in 1957. The term “Beatnik” was coined by Herb Caen of the San Francisco Chronicle on April 2, 1958 as a derogatory term, a reference to the Russian satellite Sputnik, which managed to suggest that the beats were (1) “way out there” and (2) pro-Communist.
• Continuity: The stock of Hogarth’s gun changes in appearance. When Marv Loach hands it to Kent Mansley, the “HOG” of “HOGARTH” is almost directly over the “HUG” of “HUGHES”. When Kent looks at the gun in the car, the “HUG” has shifted the equivalent of two letters to the right.
• Revealing mistakes: When the deer comes to the giant, the giant’s finger appears proportionally bigger. The deer appears very small compared to the tip of the giant’s index finger, considering the giant’s whole hand was able to fit in the bathroom.
• Errors in geography: The train that collides with the Giant’s head is pulled by a Norfolk and Western Railroad locomotive. The N&W never operated in Maine.
• Anachronisms: One of Hogarth’s classmates calls him Pointdexter, most likely in reference to a character in “Felix the Cat” (1960). The story takes place in 1957, three years before that show went on the air.
• Continuity: As Hogarth runs from the Giant, he hits his head on a branch and falls. In the next shot, Hogarth is lying on a clearing, with no sign of the branch.
• Continuity: When the jeep pulls up to shoot at the Iron Giant in the intersection, the ammo box on its machine gun is on the gun’s right side. When the gunner shoots at the Iron Giant, the ammo box is on the gun’s left side.
• Continuity: In the scene while Hogarth is talking to the Giant in the clearing shortly after bumping into the branch, it shows the Giants head without the dent, shows Hogarth, then shows the Giants head again this time with the dent.
• Factual errors: When Hogarth leaves the house to encounter the giant for the first time, a crescent moon is shown touching the horizon. The TV station has not signed off, and the plot suggests it is a time when kids are in bed but adults are still up, so it has to be before midnight. However, the moon’s crescent is to the left, which would indicate a waning moon rising in the east shortly before sunrise.
• Continuity: Before Hogarth leaves the house to go into the woods, he tapes his torch to the top of his BB gun’s barrel. After that it is still taped to the gun but it is underneath the barrel.
• Anachronisms: Set in 1957, in one scene The Iron Giant is seen playing with a 1959 Cadillac
• Anachronisms: The nuclear-powered submarine USS Nautilus (SSN-571) is depicted as a fleet ballistic missile (FBM) submarine. However, the Nautilus was a torpedo-carrying attack submarine. Also, the Polaris FBM program was not operational until autumn 1960. Furthermore, the missile being fired is reminiscent of a UGM-73 Poseidon C3 missile, not fielded until 1972 on the Lafayette and James Madison-class SSBNs.
• Continuity: A scene midway through the movie reveals a sign on the side of Dean’s tow truck that reads “McCoppin Scrap”. The end credits offer us an alternate spelling: Dean McCoppen.

• Factual errors: SPOILER: When Victor Quartermaine does the “Bag a Rabbit game” at the fair and he fires three shots in quick succession, he is using a bolt-action rifle. This is not possible as there would be a noticeable pause between each shot caused by working the bolt.
• Continuity: SPOILER: In the woods, where Wallace is first seen becoming the Were-Rabbit, he first has to face Quartermane, who throws an axe at him. The axe lands on one side of Wallace, but in the next close up we see the axe on the other side.
• Continuity: After Wallace and Gromit capture the rabbit in the beginning, a banner for the vegetable competition shows that there are four days left. The next night, after Wallace tries to brainwash the rabbits, the calendar where Gromit has marked the days until the competition shows that there are five days left, before Gromit crosses off one more day, making it four.
• Continuity: In the beginning of the movie, during the breakfast scene. There is some salt and pepper on the table. In the early shots of that scene the salt and Pepper are farther away from Wallace, but when he pushes the pepper it is closer to him.
• Continuity: During the town meeting scene. Lady Tottington is in front of the bible with angel wings and a light above her. But in the shot after it cuts to victor, the light is now not above the bible with wings.
• Continuity: The pictures of Anti-Pesto’s clients change frequently.
• Continuity: In the part where you see the lady locking her greenhouse full of carrots there are five locks right in a row on the greenhouse. In the first shot she locks the first three locks. In the second shot she is again locking the third one.
• Continuity: When the were-rabbit rips the large illuminated carrot sign from the vegetable store and throws it on the van, it disappears when the van drives off.
• Continuity: When the priest shuts his greenhouse door you can see there is no alarm lights on each side of it. But when he hits the alarm button there they are blinking.
• Revealing mistakes: You can see the thin metal pole they use for stop motion on Gromits front right foot.
• Continuity: When Gromit opens the passenger side door of the Anti-Pesto van, the window is down. When the Were-Rabbit appears and Gromit drives after it, the passenger side window is now up.
• Continuity: When Wallace and Gromit are trapped by Victor’s dead end tree in the road, Victor throws the hatchet into the tree next to Wallace. Wallce, nor his clothes, are touching it. Yet when Wallace tries to run off, we see his suspenders caught in the hatchet. The very next scene, Wallace is next to the tree again, and again his clothes are still not caught under the hatchet.
• Continuity: When the neon carrot sign falls on the hood of the Anti-Pesto van, a big piece of the sign is missing. When the Were-Rabbit bursts through the window of the vegetable shop, the sign now has an even bigger piece missing.
• Continuity: When Gromit presses the button to deploy the lasso, there is a hood ornament on the car, which rotates 90 degrees as the hood opens. But a moment later when the lasso rises (and for the remainder of the chase) the hood ornament is gone. When the car returns to Wallace’s house and shakes off the mud, the ornament is back again.
• Continuity: When Victor Quartermaine fires his gun in the church to silence everyone and restore order, you can see a shotgun shell ejected from his gun, but later when he gets the golden bullets to kill the were-rabbit, the bullets are large caliber rifle cartridges.
• Miscellaneous: It’s full moon for at least four nights in a row.
• Continuity: In the scene where the Priest and Victor are looking through the book of Monsters, a candle can be seen on the left side of the book, but in the next shot it is on the right.
• Revealing mistakes: The hammer on Quatermaine’s flintlock doesn’t have a flint, but it makes a spark anyway.
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The prices in the fairground scene at the Giant Vegetable Contest are in the old pounds, shillings and pence, showing that this film is set before this form of currency was abolished on 15 February 1971 (indeed, Gromit’s calendar in one scene shows that 1 September is a Thursday, so the latest this film could be set is 1966). Yet Pesto’s technology uses LEDs, which didn’t become available until the mid-70s, and diode lasers, which weren’t available to the general public until about 2000. However, Wallace has been shown to be a genius inventor, it’s quite possible he invented all of these things himself, long before the items became available to the public.
• Continuity: There is 8 rabbits in the fridge, but later when Gromit catches them there are only 6 in his hands.
• Continuity: When Wallice and Gromit are at Lady Tottington’s house getting the rabbits, the lever has suck at the bottom, and blow at the top, but later when Wallace is trying his invention, when the camera is facing upward, blow is at the bottom, but later it changes back to the original way it was.
