“A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge” Goofs List
- Continuity: There are towel marks visible on Coach Schneider’s posterior before the first strike.
- Continuity: When Jesse and Grady are fighting with each on the school baseball field and coach Schnider starts to walk over, in the background you can see the guy wearing the baseball mitt behind the coach. In the next shot you can see him encouraging Jesse and Grady to keep fighting with each other.
- Continuity: When Jesse’s sister shows him the “Fu Man Fingers” they jump from her left hand to her right between shots. Also the cereal box she pulled the Fu Man Fingers out of, the box was on the table before she pulled them out. In the next shot the box is in her hand, then she pulls the Fu Man Fingers out.
- Revealing mistakes: When the kids are reading the diary about Freddy Krueger, the pages that they are “reading” from are all blank.
- Continuity: When the coach is getting bombarded by basketballs and volleyballs one of the balls flies out, smacks him in the head and then bounces on the floor. At one point it is a volleyball and at another point it is a basketball.
- Continuity: In the opening scene, the kids on the bus are seen standing up and walking towards the door while the bus is still moving. In the next shot, they are all sitting down until the bus stops.
- Crew or equipment visible: In the opening scene when the bus is coming down the street, one of the crew members is visible walking back and forth behind a tree on the left side of the screen.
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: During the end scene of the movie on the school bus, Jesse and Lisa begin to scream before Freddy’s glove comes out of Carrie’s stomach.
- Miscellaneous: During the Final Fight in the Boiler room, a liquid can be seen coated on the pipes before they light aflame.
- Errors in geography: The fictional location for the Nightmare on Elm Street franchises was Springwood, Ohio. Throughout the film Palm Trees are visible in the background which cannot be grown in Ohio climate and the bus in the opening scene drives through the desert, which is not part of Ohio’s geography.
- Revealing mistakes: Toward the end when Freddy tackles Lisa in the hallway of her house and bites her leg, you can clearly see that it’s not Kim Myers who kicks him in the face, but her stunt double.
- Continuity: In the opening scene text on the school bus varies between SCHOOLBUS and SCHOOL BUS.
- Continuity: When the first basketball launches at the coach after the rack has moved round, it is orange. When it strikes the coach on the head it is white, and then when it hits the ground it is orange but a different ball from the first ball that was launched.
- Crew or equipment visible: SPOILER: During the death scene where the coach is being dragged out of his office and towards the showers, you can see a clear, plastic string under his left arm pulling him.
- Crew or equipment visible: Behind the tennis racket on the wall, you can see the heating element that’s lighting up and burning the strings in two.
- Revealing mistakes: Coach Schneider is supposedly stripped naked before he is whipped. However, in one shot he is still wearing pants. This is only noticeable in full-frame video versions.
- Continuity: In every scene filmed in the basement of Jesse’s house, the basement door opens into the room. During the last scene in the room, the camera pans to the door but it opens out into the hall.
